Default Google Earth

I had my 2018 Cayenne Turbo on a CETEC battery tender for about 6 weeks while I had and recovered from COVID. When I was again able to drive Google Earth just shows "Loading" but never does actually start. I know I can reset the PCM but I would like to solve this without loosing all the other settings, destinations, etc already in the system.

Any suggestions?

It's not you. Same here. I sent a message to Porsche Connect - no response yet.

Customer service informed me that Google Earth has been discontinued for all Porsche vehicles including the most recent model year.

I am getting conflicting information on this. Porsche rep told me that this was discontinued (apparently they sent an email about it - which I never got), but I saw some posts in other forums that Porsche is working on a workaround/fix. Either way, it's a ****ty way to handle this especially for this brand.

Just returned from the dealer where they told me "maintenance can turn it back on." They will call me Monday to schedule an appointment.

That's good news. BTW, Have you ever been able to update maps? In the past two years I haven't seen a single update. I think this will be the last year I will pay for connect services. Seems like a gigantic waste of money...

Never tried to update maps. Really isn't any need in Louisiana as we never build any new roads. Anytime I'm going someplace where I need up to date info I use my Garmin which is about 10 years old but I get free map updates about each quarter.

The thing we use most is the on-line search for destinations. I've found it quite helpful and much easier and more accurate than trying to enter street addresses. Put in the first letters of the name of the desired destination, wait for it to give you the list of possibles, select the one you want and away you go, plus it gives you the phone number so if going to a restaurant you can call and make reservations if needed.

Google Earth is working again. I guess they were able to fix it on the server since there was no change or service on my end.

Good. Can't check on mine as it is in the body shop. Someone committed a hit and run while it was parked in a handicapped spot in a parking lot. Should get it back this afternoon hopefully.

Love it. I lived in Lafayette, LA for about 10 years. PhD at LSU too.
