Yup...its true. Not sure if my car is just broken, but ive never owned another car with such a jerky, lurchy, and uneven power delivery. And before you say it, the tc is brand new from the dealer. Its fine on the highway, but truly gox awful around town. The transmission programming sucks, there is some driveline slop giving you a jerk at light throttle, shifting from reverse to drive at a slight uphill gives you a judder as you lightly apply throttle, at light throttle at 3000rpm all of a sudden you get some power as the variocam or whatever comes into play.

No check engine lights, tranny codes, or other obvious signs that my car is different from the rest. Its a nice looking car, but im looking hard at other options because its a big steaming pile of trash

I just got rid of my 2014 Audi Q5 for that same reason. replaced it with a 2018 Cayenne and love how smooth it shifts and drives. Im wondering if yours just needs fresh motor or trans mounts??

I thought my old 955 with steel suspension was by far the best highway riding SUV I'd ever been in and by far the worst around town SUV I'd ever been in.

Our current 958.2 is comfortable to me all over.

The ride is fine. The size is good, and the towing capacity is a big plus. Love the interior looks and comfort. The hvac is retarded and the driveline is just garbage. I dont think mounts are the answer as it feels like the underlying drivetrain is the issue, not the isolation of it. Its also not a high mile beater, has less than 70k miles, all fluids changed, etc.

Our drivetrain doesn't feel bad to me and I regularly drive both the Cayenne (my wife's DD) and my A6 3.0t so constantly can compare it to that.

My old 955 had bad mounts and a bad front differential and that thing got clunky as all get out shifting off the line from a stop.

One possibility is transmission valve body. One symptom is hard shifting with low throttle, About 5K at a dealership.

The shifts themselves are fine. Basically leaving a stop and crusing then reapplying throttle are when its super annoying.

I got rid of my 2010 CGTS Design Edition 3 because it was a maintenance POS too. I replaced it with my now former 2011 CTT which was very reliable until it hit 80K miles.

That sounds more like mounts or CV joints.

Did those of you complaining take these cars for a test drive before you bought them?

Of course. I dont know about you, but on a 20 minute test drive without the car fully warm, its hard to tell much

A 20 minute drive on a car at that price point and level of sophistication? I'm sorry, but IMO it's on you.

Did you propose to your wife after a 20 minute conversation?

You've got slop somewhere in your drivetrain. Find that and fix it and all your problems will vanish. I'll try to look into possible causes tomorrow. I just got home from work and am beat.
