Default 2013 Headlamp seal/gasket

Porsche dealership parts departments and various threads say there is no replacement for 2011-2014 headlamp sea/gasket.
However, Porsche parts websites say that the composite headlamp assembly 958-631-177-22 (driver headlamp; with HID; with dynamic) fits 2011-2018 Cayennes. They are saying that this one headlamp is the same in 2011-2018 Cayennes (just using the driver's side part number; the passenger side has a different part number, but everything applies to both driver and passenger sides).

Also, however, Porsche parts websites say that the headlamp seal/gasket 958-631-119-00 (driver) fits only 2015-2018, not 2011-2014.

So... if Porsche Parts Departments say the single headlamp assembly fits 2011-2018 Cayennes, then why doesn't the seal/gasket that comes with that headlamp assembly only fits 2015-2018??

In other words, the seal/gasket that comes with the 2011-2018 headlamp assembly should fit the headlamp assembly of the 2011-2014 Cayennes.

So, even though the websites say there is no replacement seal/gasket for the 2011-2014 headlamps, it looks like the seal/gasket THAT IS AVAILABLE for the 2015-2018 headlamps should fit the 2011-2014 headlamps.

Am I missing something?

Order one. See if it fits. Maybe it's the bumper/hood have different edges so that could be the difference. So lights could be same but the sourrinding parts could be doffeeent.

OK. Found the answer to the issue.
I posted this because I have seen threads where other people have been running into the same problem, and I thought I may have found a solution for us all.
But...
I just talked to a parts guy at Gaudin Porsche Parts of Las Vegas (the guys at this place are great; very nice, very helpful, very highly recommended).
The Porsche parts websites (these are genuine Porsche dealership websites, not aftermarket!) have a mistake. They all use the same information, so they all have the same mistake.
The headlamp 958-631-177-22 (driver; HID; with dynamic) that the Porsche websites says fits 2011-2018 is INCORRECT!
This headlamp part number fits only 2011-2014 Cayennes, not 2015-2018.
So, the seal/gasket that comes with the 2015-2018 headlamp does NOT fit the 2011-2014 headlamps.
A replacement headlamp seal/gasket is available for before 2011-2014 and after 2011-2014, but there is no replacement gasket for 2011-2014.
Porsche is one quirky company.
So, back to generic gasket material to fabricate one.

Give these a try and let us know how they are. They've been on my to-do list. The seals on my 2013 are disintegrating. I've already had the headlights out to replace the brittle/cracking RTV so they would stop leaking and fogging up. Junk!

Anybody have any experience ordering anything from a store that is in China? I mean, everything we buy is made in China, but it's here in the States. This stuff is still in China. The website mentions possible tariffs, and infers maybe you'll get it and maybe you won't. So, anybody ever order anything from a store that is in China? Their headlight seal looks promising.

I order stuff from China all the times. A lot of the items are fake, questionable quality. The worst part is slow shipping.

Just my CarPlay unit but, hey what could go wrong installing cheap Chinese electronics of questionable quality into an expensive aging german vehicle. It’s nothing critical or complicated like a headlight gasket. Haha

But seriously, I felt like I was throwing money on the roulette wheel buying it and I think that “I’m willing to lose this money” attitude is the attitude you need to go into it with and be happy if it works out.

Check this thread. Not expensive and works great...I did it on my 2011 CS

Headlight Gaskets Replacements for 958.1

I altered the method slightly by getting the EPDM rubber from McMaster-Carr instead of the Viton. Also, it's cheaper and more effective to use plain super glue for holding the gasket. Use very sparingly and don't spill any onto the headlight! Cyanoacrylate glue acts like acid on acrylics and will instantly blister it. Don't ask how I know

That was my thinking also about ordering from the store in China; a crapshoot. I decided to not do it.
Yes, I found a thread where somebody found some rubber edge strip on McMaster site, so I can't take credit for my fix.
First, I used McMaster p/n 1142A37, which is 3/16 inch bead with a 1/2 inch flange.
I thought it looked good, but I didn't think it filled the gap between the headlamp and the body well enough.
Then, I used McMaster p/n 1142A11, which is 1/4 inch EPDM rubber bead with a 3/4 inch flange. You have to trim the flange a little in spots, but it is very easy.
I liked this much better. It fills the gap better.
The bead is hollow, so it compresses in the gap.
The old original Porsche gasket is a hard plastic "frame" that clips to the headlamp. This frame has a soft rubber bead on the edge. The bead deteriorates, not the hard plastic frame.
So, I easily cut the crumbling rubber bead off the frame. I clipped the frame to the headlamp. Then I fitted the new McMaster strip to the frame and butted it up to the headlamp. I carefully glued the new strip to the frame with superglue. If you need to, the superglued on rubber can be peeled off the frame, but it holds well.
When the headlamp is reinstalled into the hole in the bodywork, the hollow rubber bead compresses in the gap.
I think it turned out close to perfect.

I know this is an old thread, but the gaskets from that Aliexpress link are what I ordered and they are original parts and fit perfectly. They took about 3 weeks to arrive but as far as i can tell they are genuine parts.
