Default New Genuine Porsche headlamp

Had to replace my passenger side headlamp assembly due to someone hitting my 2013 Cayenne S, parked in a hotel parking lot at night (unattended, hit and run).
Body shop ordered a new-in-the-box, complete, genuine Porsche headlamp assembly (HID, with dynamic).
Guess what the new headlamp assembly does not come with?
A control unit (I thought it was a ballast, but Porsche calls it a control unit. Silver, square metal box that attaches to and plugs into to the back of the headlamp).
Headlamp does not work without it.
The control unit costs about $730 (so we took the one off the old headlamp and used it).
Headlamp still does not work.
Guess what the complete headlamp assembly also does not come with?
A light bulb.

Porsche tax...
So did you re-use the old bulb as well?

Yes.
From what I've read, these bulbs dim over time, so I might buy two new bulbs.

This is pretty standard these days. BMW is the same way. I had to replace my passenger side F80 M3 headlight (cracked by a bolt kicked up from truck in front of me) and it was just the housing. No bulbs or electronics.
