Auto start stop Deactivation
2015 Cayenne S here, anyone know how to disable the auto start/ stop feature on this vehicle besides manually pressing the dash auto start button every time?
I mean, really. I start it up sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. 350 days of the year. That's 1,050 times a year and over 5,000 times over a 5 year period.
When I owned a 2019 Jeep Cherokee there was a cable that I discovered behind the battery that when disconnected it permanently disabled the annoying start / stop feature and never had to press the dash button ever again.
Was wondering if there was a workaround for the Porsche Cayenne as well.. Thanks for any feedback. YouTube was of little help.

None that I know of but I did program the special button on the steering wheel to disable the start/stop. Not your solution but at least it's a little closer to push each time I want to activate it.

Well, I just went through all vehicle menu settings in the steering wheel ball and there, unfortunately, is not an option to disable the star / stop feature.
At least not the make and model of what I drive.
Still exploring. Might need to hunt me down a Porsche indy

I have a 2015 Cayenne S as well and it works on mine. It should be the button with the diamond logo on it. I can check when I get home but it's definitely in the manual on how to program it.

Oh OK, I mean I know where the A/S button is on the console.
I'll grab my manual as well. I would have done that from the get-go if I was looking to de-program it, I know for sure it's not going to mention how to disconnect the cable under the hood lol
Thanks, let me know if you find anything.

im not sure when or why Porsche changed this, but on my 2012 CS, once i disable the stupid *** feature, it stays off... and im thankful for it!
Good luck on finding a solution - I think i read a while back that a few people managed to use a PIWIS to program the button to stay off...

Sorry, I meant the programmable button on the steering wheel that I programed to deactivate the start-stop function has a diamond logo on it. Once it's programmed, it operates the same as the start-stop button on the console but it's just a little closer to the hand when I want to deactivate it. I'll try to find the page in the owner's manual on how to program it.

I didn't find a solution in that, either.
I did find out that leaving it in sport mode will disengage auto start/stop, but that sport mode has never appealed to me in that particular car, it does not offer any additional value or better experience. Just drinks up more fuel.
OK, well I guess I will , keep manually pressing the A/S button until I get another car. Thanks.

Not sure which shortcut I'll program. I don't have an issue turning off AS/S manually...maybe tire pressure. Lots of people on a Macan forum program it for "next track" but that doesn't seem to work with CarPlay (still sitting on my shelf).
