Rear spoiler damage

Rear spoiler damage
I damaged the black extension of the top rear spoiler (hit a not fully opened garage door).
is the black end replaceable/reattachable?
the local body shop is telling me I have to replace the whole spoiler from the roof on (painted piece that the black piece extends from too).
anyone know a “used parts” porsche source in SE FLA if it can be replaced ?

I've used https://www.car-part.com/ successfully in the past. You can find most any part if you widen your search area but proceed with caution. It's basically just a junk yard hookup so things can be incorrectly identified when it comes to options like color or side or electronics.

The spoiler is indeed detachable.
Remove the screw and nut under the circular rubber covers on both sides of the inside of the hatch. Use a plastic tool to release the catches on the plastic spoiler lip.
Beware of the third brake light wiring when you pull the spoiler off.

Short answer: Maybe
Long answer: Had a similar scenario earlier this year. Initially, body shop thought I could just replace the spoiler. However, when it was taken apart the damage was more extensive and they needed to replace the entire unit. As an earlier post noted, part numbers and specific part can be tricky. Mine had the Sport Design Package which apparently is a different part than standard.
