trade 957 for 958 GTS?
my '09 GTS has now logged over 330k kms and considering trading it for '17 GTS with only 40k kms.......big differences in engine and transmission as well the newer model electrical mods.
the old beast works well as my daily driver all year round as well my tow machine for the travel trailer and boat.........other than the high miles vs low any real reason to do the deal?

Having owned both I’d say there are pros and cons for both, the 958.2 is a better package but the 957 has way more character.
Much more torque in the 958.2 from the V6TT but sounds rubbish compared to the V8 in the 957
957 has more off-road bona fides. Feels a bit like the 957 was built by engineers but the 958 was built by accountants. Rear hatch on the 957 is super cool but complex. 958 hatch could be on a Chrysler product. panoramic roof on the 957 is 3 piece and has more settings to open up the interior to the outside but is super expensive to fix if it breaks.
958.2 interior is miles nicer particularity if you don’t have full leather in the 957 (plus CarPlay as mentioned above)
Appearance is subjective but I think they are both good looking vehicles. I thought the rear end of the 958.1 was a mess, 958.2 is better but the 957 is (imho) the best of the cayennes.
Dynamically I notice the 958 is a little sharper than the 957 but both are compromised by center of gravity and being an SUV.
for me the choice would be more about longevity/warranty to ensure I wasn’t stuck with any major costs as I think they are both really good vehicles…

Also, the '09 currently has had no major issues with engine/transmission and 4x4 drivetrain other then regular maintenance.
The longevity question is the biggest reason for myself; given the newer unit 'should' last a considerable amount of time/miles where as the older is now perhaps past its prime. of course there is a significant financial impact with the new unit especially as the the older unit is debt free.

Only just spotted your ‘09 is Nordic Gold. Beautiful color - given these a luxury cars more than sports cars I would personally factor colors and trim into the decision too….

test drove the '17 GTS, like it and came to the conclusion the Macan can be traded rather than the older Cayenne.
Ill keep both Cayennes for a while and see how much I drive the older...........if not much then revisit selling her.
thanks for all the input
