Anyone try OEM brand transfer case from parts geek $1,560
Hi,
I am replacing my fluid on my 2011 with 110k miles. It started to slip. I replaced once before at 60k or so and it worked until now.
But, thinking this time might not be so lucky.
In searching for replacements I found this:
https://www.partsgeek.com/vjybnpz-po...hoCCYoQAvD_BwE
The company seems to make a lot of transfer case parts for BMW, Mercedes and a few for Porsche. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
The options seem to be sunocast rebuilt $4k, a rebuilt one from tcbmwx5.com at $1,800 or this new at $1,560

Sub'd... Id also be curious to hear feedback on this.
Just had such a garbage experience with Porsche of San Diego for my transferase replacement (that still falls under the extended warranty Porsche rolled out) that at this point I'm considering doing it myself, having it done at an indy, or literally anything other than having to go back to those clowns again

Wow. That's a steal. Says it fits the Turbo too. Tempted to buy one and put it on the shelf.

I ordered from Partsgeek along with the 10 bolts needed. We'll see how it goes.
I replaced fluid, no difference. Unplugged the unit, all symptoms resolved.
Not sure if I will install or have my indy do it.

Definitely post up results after install and maybe a few follow ups

Interested to know how this works out. A $1,500 part that works will definitely change my calculus on how long I am keeping this wonderful vehicle and whether or not I want to buy a powertrain warranty.

Living in Phoenix AZ, I can't think of any driving conditions I would personally encounter that would benefit from the AWD system in my Cayenne, and I don't think my driving style would be hindered in any way. Unplugging the TC seems to be a viable option for me personally if I ever start to have problems with it.

I'm not sure if a 60% increase in price, plus a few hundred in shipping, new hardware, plus labor costs (most people don't do this themselves so that might be significant) and the fact the reinforced clutch plate transfer cases aren't failing, makes the FCP price worth it.
