Default Red battery generater fault Hybrid

hello need help to trouble shoot. long story short car worked fine night before. woke up next morning to run errands tried to start my cayene i instantly got the error battery generator fault so i replaced the 12volt batt. and still show the fault. im guessing the generator is in between the motor and transmisson according to this article? https://www.autoevolution.com/news/b...ned-23159.html. any one else have this happen? also my radiator fan runs high for some reason with the fault. porsche of San Antonio is a bit behind for a diagonostics and repair cars been down 3 weeks thanks.

Check this thread. You might just have a brake switch failure.

If it’s not warranty work give Berk a call at German Car Specialists and see if he can help - not sure about hybrids but it would be worth a call to see and maybe he can get you in a lot quicker. You could also try Premier 1 off of 281 - haven’t used them but some friends have been happy with them.

Good luck!

Looks as though something’s been chewing on your car.
Do you have rodent issues in your area? I would be tempted to have Porsche look it over, rather than an independent because of the hybrid stuff. You could be a lot closer to an insurance claim than it seems at first glance if there’s other damage elsewhere.

i soldered new wires to both ends of the damaged wires heat shrinked and the car started right up! i guess a squierll or a mouse was the intruder

Oh no. I hate when critters chew my wires. I’ve had this on my Ford Truck a couple times.
