Default Softronic tune

Got one installed on my 2016GTS. Install is idiot proof and try as I might with the vague instructions, I did not or probably could not screw it up. Some time old and clunky software can be a blessing. The clunky part was in the Mygenius setup, install update etc.
The car has a load more power, especially torque in the mid range and will spin tires in the wet with launch control activated. I had no contact with Softronic except to order the tune from their website and everything happened as expected seamlessly.
Very happy with the extra power and torqueThe tune seems great, smooth, responsive especially after I ran the car pst 30 miles. Initially it was surging and weird shifts but now all is perfect. It was adjusting the adaptations I guess. Boost will show 21 psi now.
In my opinion, the tune is well worth the money and makes the car much more fun. Was about to buy an F-Pace SVR but think I will now hang on to this one a little longer.

How long did it take from purchase to operational?

I installed the software over a year ago. WHAT A CHANGE!! The claimed HP of 510 and torque of 560 are absolutely believable.

Also installed the software on my modified 3.6L 987.1 Cayman S. I highly recommend it.

I ordered the tune from Softronic directly from their website and received the handheld tuner two or three days later. I installed the Mygenius software over the following weekend and sent the downloaded information to Softronic on a Sunday and received the tune file to download to the Mygenius Monday afternoon. I did not install the tune until the following Friday as I was waiting for my 25 amp charger to arrive. Even though the instructions to install and update are not the best, it does seem impossible to screw something up so clunky but safe and did the job no problem. The tune is great. Very impressed with the drivability and the extra power. Service from Softronic was first class despite me not having any direct contact with them. They did exactly what their website says and have a great product.

This post is killing me. My ‘16 GTS is going in to have the Fabspeed bypass pipes installed this week and was originally going to install the Softronic tune at the same time. I told my shop to hold off on the tune for now. After reading this, I think I’m changing my mind.

Softronic ask for stock, secondary cat delete and other mods before they send you the tune. There might be 5hp power increase by bypassing the cats if that. The tune will add 70hp and 119lb ft or torque for similar money. I made my choice based on this and I am glad I did.

FWIW just throwing this in for the thread to provide alternatives/options.... I researched tuning options and I personally went with Todd @ Protomotive. I have yet to dyno my 958 Turbo, but with the mods I have plus the tune, I'm sure I'm closer to 600hp at the crank. Who knows with drivetrain loss but I'd love to get some WHP numbers once I get these winter tires off.

Nothing but good things to say about the softronic tune also. Good customer service, quick, easy, idiot-proof install. Have had it on the car for 2 years or so now and no problems whatsoever.
The best thing about it is driving in normal mode is now much more responsive and sort of halfway between stock normal and sport mode for a perfect everyday driving experience.
launching in sport plus feels downright violent.

Default Tune question related to California smog

Does the softronic tune pass California smog, assuming no other changes to engine or exhaust?

Or does the car have to be reflashed to stock when going in every 2 yrs for smog?

Just installed my tune last night on my 958.2 S and loving it. We will see how it fares longer term, but I have no reason to believe there will be any issues!

Install was a breeze, hooked up to a 15A charger, to 20 min to upload the tune, drove for 30ish min and nice and smooth. I am really liking the increased use of the turbos lower in the rev range. Feels far more peppy/ eager.

My tune is ordered and will be installed when my Fabspeed pipes get installed later this week. Birthday present to myself! can't wait.

Fabspeed pipes and Softronic tune were installed on my ‘16 GTS yesterday. I don’t have much seat time yet but wow, noticeable difference. Very similar outcome I felt on my 2012 Cayenne Turbo. In Normal mode, it feels like 75% of Sport mode prior to the tune. I haven’t tried Sport yet. The pipes really wake the sound up. It’s not quite the sound of my old Turbo but sounds much better than stock. I’m hearing some subtle overrun pops and some DSG “farts” on the upshifts. This was a great addition to the GTS. Only bummer I have is my tech found some leaking Timing cover bolts, so will have to go back and remediate.

Does the tune add noise? Or is that the exhaust.

I should have done these separately, I don’t know. But sounds great.

Any reason why you chose Fabspeed pipes over soul? I’m debating on which one to get.
