What's this button do?
All these years in the 958.2 Cayenne S - and I never saw the button in-between the driver's seat and the door pillar (down low on the door pillar). Anyone know what it's for? Sorry for no picture, I couldn't get my phone/camera to focus in there and my head with readers wasn't gonna clear it either!

It's used to deactive the interior motion sensor (red light on means it's deactivated). I use it when I leave the dogs in the car so they don't set the alarm off. It resets itself to being automatically on every time you lock/unlock the doors.

No, that capability is the same on a 958, too.

While I read that the lock button capability is supposed to be the same on the 958, I have never been successful in getting it to actually work on my 958.2. Finally discovering the button on the driver side B pillar that OP asked about is the only way I can seem to disable my motion sensor. My previous X5 was able to be disabled in the same manner the 958 supposedly can, so it was a familiar way to do it, just never worked.

Verbiage in my 958.2 owner's manual is the exact same. But since they mention use of the door handle button, I wonder if my door handle is causing issues with it being able to activate in this manner. I've had several instances where I've just tried to lock the vehicle by pressing the door button without any response. Wouldn't surprise me if this is the reason I haven't been able to successfully disable it with any method other than the rocker switch.
