Default Snow tires

Just took possession of my 2020 recently and it came with brand new Conti all season tires. I am used to driving RWD with snow tires, but don’t know how this will handle in the snow. Thoughts on whether I should get snows?

Normally it does fine with moderate snow where plowing happens. I would not venture rural mountain areas with colder weather.
There's a probable overlap on where you can drive RWD with winter tires and a cayenne with all-season.
I used to drive my 911 RWD with winter tires and still drive my Spyder with Alpins. In some aspects like braking it was better than the cayenne. If the temperatures are really low where you normally drive, then winter tires are required. I'm in the Chicago area and the cayenne on all seasons never gave us trouble. Besides high altitude areas where suboptimal plowing and really low temperatures are a constant, you might be just fine as is.

If you are north of the GTA like Barrie, you are better to get snow tires. It’s peace of mind at the very least.

If you live anywhere in the GTA, you should get snow tires. They should make it a legal requirement like in Quebec.

I agree with you 100% - they should be a legal requirement.

In the Chicago suburbs I have found that winter tires have much better stopping and handling capability than all season tires, especially in icy road conditions. We don't get as much snow as we used to but ice remains a serious winter hazard. I bought a second set of factory wheels for our Cayenne and 911 and swap them in December and back in May. The handling is a bit less sharp but also more cushy. It also extends the life of my more costly summer tires. Winter tires typically last three seasons before the outer sticky layer of rubber wears off and they perform more like all-season tires.
