Discount Extended Warranty

Lots of threads discussing extended warranties. Popular 3rd party is Fidelity, a couple of dealers have in the past provided discounts for rennlist users. Search on Fidelity.

I had the Fidelity warranty w my prior car, an audi. They have a few warranty levels, I had the top one that covered thru 80,000 miles, called platinum. The thing that was annoying was the pricing. Audi has and official page for extended pricing, and the prices there were always less than what dealers quoted. W Porsche, since Fidelity isn't the official extended warranty provider, I'm not sure how you'd chase down a good price. I might check the audi prices if there is an equivalently valued car, just to get some numbers baselined. What you pay for the warranty is negotiable.

I'm not sure if you're asking about extension of the new car warranty through Porsche, or if you're inquiring about purchasing a discounted 3rd party provided extended warranty such as Fidelity.
If you're considering the 3rd party option, I agree with comments about Fidelity. I've had experience with a Fidelity Platinum warranty on a 2009 Porsche 911 and it was a very good experience.
You can purchase the plan through franchised auto dealers - doesn't have to be a Porsche Dealer. In fact, the warranty that I purchased was from a GM dealership located out of state. (Recommended by many on the Rennlist Porsche 997 forum).
Here are the names / contact information on two individuals who are highly recommended through members of the Rennlist 997 forum (I have no direct affiliation with either of them):
Michael Jourdan
Finance Director
Mossy Motors (New Orleans)

Michael Bernardo
Director of Marketing
Steingold Volvo Cars (Pawtucket RI)

Each dealer above will offer discounted rates on Fidelity plans (mention the Rennlist Porsche forum)

The Porsche extension was $2700 for an extra year added to my CPO warranty IIRC. Another thing to keep in my if you have an eHybrid is that many ESP do not cover the hybrid components.

@craig01 Reach our for extended warranty information from our other provider Freedom Warranty, just as high claims ratios, and acceptance as our other provider Fidleity, at a lower price for vehicles affected by Fidelity's mileage based pricing tiers. Depending on the vehicle, Panamera's especially, Freedom Warranty offers a good value on vehicles over 35K-45K miles. Financing is also available with Freedom Warranty on all coverages.

Hello, questions to understand the Porsche Protection Plan, currently have a CPO vehicle with 7 months of manufacturing warranty. So, looking to see if I can have the Porsche warranty extended.
- How do the term months get counted? For example for a 60-month term Platinum plan, is it calculated from the actual delivery date of the car of the when I purchase the plan?

if you guy a fidelity warranty when the car is new the start date is the in service date - typically the day u bought the car. HOWEVER, FOR USED CARS, i think w fidelity the way it works is they sell in 10,000 mile brackets, and age is also taken into account. so if ur car is 5 years old and has 40,000 miles u can buy a warranty to cover to 90,000 miles for 5 years - and that warranty would be from ur date of purchase of that warranty. that warranty would cost more than a 50,000 mile warranty new because they know miles 40,000 thru 90,000 will cost a lot more to maintain.

There is the PSMP (porsche pre paid maintenance https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...ntenance/psmp/ )
you can’t get that so no need discussing it. Then there is the official Porsche Financial extended warranty product. I do not know if you can buy that w a pre owned vehicle. I was told it was a new product in Nov. I bought it w my car. For my car it was 4g for 72 months of full coverage, including brakes, batteries and some other stuff that is often considered wearable. I had the Fidelity platinum warranty w my prior audi. My complaint was how they do the refunds but that is negated by buying the warranty right before the factory warranty expires. I won’t go on and on about what I don’t like about how they do the refunds, because it isn’t applicable to your case since u are coming up on the end of the factory warranty. All that said, in an ideal world, buy the warranty on the last day of ur factory coverage. That way u maximize ur coverage period.
