Default 2024 Pre-heating/Ventilation

Hi guys,

Picked up my 2024 Cayenne S a few weeks ago. The one thing that I truly miss is remote start.

Is there any way at all whether via online or in car settings to turn the heat/heated seats on remotely or by scheduling?

The app has a button to turn on auxiliary ventilation. when reading the manual, it sounds like it heats or vents without heat in summer. I haven't tried it. It runs for 10 mins.

I did find that on the app but I assumed it just brings in “fresh ambient air” and doesn’t heat/cool.

Will give it a shot tomorrow morning!

It heats for about 10 minutes, provided that the engine is warm. However, it does not cool, it only ventilates. To cool it, the air conditioning compressor would have to work, and this is only possible when the engine is running.

In a hybrid, parking heating and cooling work on a different principle than in cars with ICE. In a hybrid, this is possible because the energy is taken from the traction battery.

Do am pretty sure you need an eHyrid to get the preconditioning function. It does use the HV battery pack and it is nice getting into a car that is nice and warm. Better for the HV pack as well since it is warmed up as well. I'm in a Taycan loaner right now since my Cayenne is at the dealer. It automatically preconditions when I am leaving the house - cabin temp, seat heaters and steering wheel are all on when I get into the car to drive to work. Obviously better to precondition while plugged in versus running off the battery pack.

Supposedly it only works with ehybrid. The weird thing is it shows the function available on the app for my 2023 S. I tried it a couple of months ago. It worked. Then never worked again giving me a message “unavailable at current outdoor temperature.” Even when it was 20 degrees outside. Dealer told me the function shouldn’t even be on my app. I just wish Porsche would enable at least the heating for it.

If only the gasoline fueled auxiliary heater was available in the U.S. - a 1.677,90 € option for the Cayenne in Germany. Translation from the Cayenne configurator for Germany: "Auxiliary heater can be programmed via the PCM or activated via the included remote control. Can also be activated via smartphone in conjunction with Porsche Connect."

It's 2 degrees Fahrenheit here in Kansas right now but currently it's 9 degrees Fahrenheit in Utqiagvik (formerly named Barrow) which is the northern most community in Alaska. At least the forecasted low for tonight has been raised to -10. BRRR!

tried trigging it from the app. my car is a base coupe.p after a few seconds of sending the command to the car, it displayed a message saying that the ambient temperature was too low. Temperature in my garage was 46F.
