Maintenance: service question

Maintenance: service question
Looking for advice!
I bought a 2020 CPO Cayenne in 2023. The car had the 3 year/30,000m service done before I bought it according to the service records I have. It had 9k miles. Now we’re at the 4 year mark and the car has 18k miles.
The Question: does the car need the 4 year/40,000m service ($4500) or just the 1 year oil and maintenance service ($750)
Thank you!

The $4,500 charge for the 40k mile service is really outrageous.
According to the Cayenne recommended maintenance schedule, the 40k mile service consists mainly of inspections. There are three material services that should be done then though:
1) Transfer case fluid change
2) Engine oil and oil filter change
3) Brake fluid flush
There may also be a service to evaluate / clear out the sunroof / body drains - but that shouldn't take more than an hour at most. Possibly also a cabin filter replacement.
I would ask the dealer to itemize / breakdown what they will be doing for the $4,500 charge. (Parts and Labor separated.)
Again, the $4,500 number sounds completely ridiculous.

try another dealer? or a local porsche specialist that is independent? Porsche sells their prepaid maintenance that insulates people from the cost variation between dealers and rate increases over time. the 5 year plan which covers you for 6 years is like 6,000$ U.S. but you can only buy it when you buy the car, which is kind of annoying. w other brands you can buy it after the fact. sharing that for other buyers to be aware of. I was taken aback at the 6000$ price for what costs 1500$ at audi. but i bought it on a hunch. then when i got more active on the forum here and saw so many prices for service that i thought were insane i realized i made the right call for me. i am doing oil changes at a tighter interval than what porsche recommends, so I am paying for those out of pocket or doing them myself. and i want the sport exhaust installed which will cost 9 hours of labor. So I still pay attention to the labor rates in my area. I go up to victoria canada a lot so that is probably where I will do any of my out of pocket work.

That's a significant amount of work.
The spark plugs should have been changed at 30k miles. I would verify that they were not done (have the dealer pull the repair order for the 30k service work that was done.)
Oil / Oil filter change: $300
Brake Fluid Flush: $250
Engine Air Filter change: $150
Fuel Treatment: $10
Transfer Case oil change: $500
Clear body drains: $500
Cabin Air Filter Change: $100
Wiper Blade change(3): $125
Spark Plug change: $800 (but should have already been done at the 30k service)
Other tests / inspections $450
Total: $3,185
The numbers that I put in above are realistic - and most likely very generous based on the time needed to accomplish the work.
I would recommend exploring going with a local independent garage that does work on later model Porsches. You could most likely get all of the work done for significantly less than $3k.
Good luck with the process.

Just for a point of reference, I recently had the 40lk service done here in Saint Louis and it ran me a bit over $2100US. The service intervals are time and milage intervals so it can be both or either of those. I saw some listed everything I had done except for the wiper blades, plugs and other service. The dealer will be replacing a transfer case thermocouple as part of the transfer case fluid exchange - that part is ~$210 IIRC.
