Porsche Cayenne Window Trim
Hello, I would like to change my window trim from chrome to black. Has anyone already done this with the new cayenne model (built in 2024)?

There are a couple YouTube videos showing it on previous 958 Gen. process appears similar. Doors look easy, it's the rear qtr windows that look tricky. I have been looking into it as well.

you gotta remember a lot of people buying these cars order them so they come how people want them and even used buyers will shop for a long time so it is kind of a different market. but the plus is, unlike a lot of cars, you can make almost any change after the fact. may cost a fortune, but you can do it.

How are you configuring your order? I ordered mine in black no problem. In fact as I recall you had to chose the trim to be Chrome in one of the Exterior Packages, black was the standard.

The cheapest and fastest way to go right now is to buy some matt black automotive trim paints, and spray over all the chrome trims.

Some car makers have wrapped shiny metal exterior trim with black vinyl instead of using paint - particularly on inexpensive models. We had a Honda Civic that had vinyl wrap on the trim around the side windows. The downside was that the vinyl wrap was more prone to showing scratches.

I wrapped the trim on my Cayenne S two years ago and it still looks new. I used a Black Satin color...not shiny and not matte. I was happy with it - nearly zero maintenance.
The trim on my GTS is the glossy black and it requires much more "upkeep" to keep it looking good. The gloss black shows scratches, dirt, dust, much more than the satin black vinyl.
