Default I don’t like the new 2024 cayenne

I finally saw the 2024 Cayenne in person. I don’t know why I prefer the 2019 exterior. Not digging the taillights. Is the drive a lot smoother and better?

It is similar to the model it replaces.

Yes, I have a 2019 Cayenne S, and I like the front and the rear..

I seen several newer Porsches on the road, and I confuse them with the Lincoln SUV when I see them from the back.. Not good...

Color me in the 9Y0.1 camp.

After CPO coverage runs out in 2026, I will either keep long term, buy a 2023 or leave the brand. .2 does nothing for me.

If I leave Porsche, a CPO W12 Bentayga is on my bucket list but it’s a stretch. Next up are BMW or Lexus if the Bentley doesn’t materialize.

I agree with you. My ‘22 has been great so far but it’s my 3rd and I may not get a fourth. Too many dumb and sometimes inexcusable things for a premium brand that supposedly has top people designing it. probably when I’m in the last year of the extended warranty it may be time to move on!

Just for the record, my 2011 911S is still brilliant and a keeper after 12 1/2 years. I think more thought and focus goes into 911’s that into the “money makers”.

You are not alone. Comments in this sub-forum all point to the conclusion that the pre-2024 Cayenne is preferred over 2024 Cayenne, be it the exterior, the interior, the materials, or some other factors.

However, for those buyers who have never own a Porsche Cayenne, the 2024 Cayenne is still a top choice among other auto brands.

Well, majority of owners of older Cayennes don't like the new 2024. All 2024 Cayenne owners prefer this model.
Everyone has the right to their own assessment, but let's remember that technically the new model is very different from the pre-facelift model. Most of independent tests of the new model confirm visible progress in the car's handling and performance.

Same thinking on the MB forum, likely has some truth to it. The idea is that the premium models get more thoughtful design and build quality applies to G-, SL- and S-Class MBs. The lesser MB tiers (mid: C, E, GLC, GLE/GLS) and lower tier (everything else) get fewer luxury options are are arguably cheaply designed. All MBs have garbage reliability.

Similar to the 911 franchise with Porsche as the golden child, with other models getting less attention. I argue that Panamera is positioned a notch above Cayenne, and below 911.

It will be interesting to see when, and if, the large BEV SUV is introduced by Porsche. It will for sure push Cayenne downmarket and the new large SUV model would likely carry the highest level of luxury and performance.

I like my 2024 but never had a porsche prior. would have beee more cost effective to look at older models, yet I didn’t even consider it. Originally I was getting a 2023 SQ8, but fell in love w the porsche.

To each their own here. I personally never looked in the Cayenne’s way prior to the 2024. The exterior design of the 9Y0.1 especially the front end looks 10 years old compared to vehicles in the same class. The exterior looks sportier than ever and actually looks like a car built in this decade.

The interior while having slightly better leather also looks very old at this point. Very subjective topic of course but to me the 2024 is superior is nearly every way!

Had a 2020 cayenne, now a 2024. I think the .1 looks nicer exterior wise, interior wise they are about equal with plus and minus for each. Both are very good cars and the 2024 does not suffer from anything, it actually has a very important extra range in the hybrid models.

I loved the old cohiba/espresso interior in the .1 and it is a shame it has been discontued but the barrique red in the .2 is a nice surprise and I might prefer it to bordeaux. The deviated cross stitching option for the club leather makes the interior look much more premium since it is actual double stitching - lines and crosses - and reminds me of more higher end cars eg bentley.

There’s no accounting for taste. I like the (so far, digital only) look of my hybrid coupe due 6/28, but then my first two Porsches were 996s.
