Question PPF 992 Headlights?

Hey everyone. Do you all PPF your headlights? Have heard a few people say do it and some say don't. My GT500 headlights were PPF'd. Thanks!

I did not. For what that is worth. FL does not have nearly the rocks flying about as does AZ, so that made my mind up.

Gotcha. I got little pit marks in my headlights the first group drive I did with the car a few days ago. LOL. Ohh well.

It Really comes down to pit marks(100% certain) or the off chance of delaminating(which seems to occur when the film needs to be replaced).

FWIW, I recently replaced a headlight that has had film on it for more than 4 years. After we removed it, we tried to remove the old film and it came off perfectly, just as easily as removing it from a painted surface. As these can easily get pitted up quickly, I am going to keep the film on at all times. I asked my PPF installer if he's even seen an issue with delamination of the original lenses cover and he's never seen it in the 20 years he been doing high end PPF installations.
Good Luck

+1 for PPF on HLs. I've worked at XPEL's corporate install facility in SA for 8.5 years. We stopped auto-installing them in '17 due to the UV coating Porsche had begun to apply. Only because once in awhile if the film had to come off 1 out of 20 it may have pulled some of the clear so we just started asking clients which they preferred. I've a '20 GT4 and south Texas is extremely rocky. Add multiple gravel quarries and it's a no-brainer to add the film. They're polycarbonate lenses and look like poo getting pitted.

I always say PPF on headlights. Chipping is guaranteed. Pulling UV coating when removing is not. Also, I'd much rather wetsand and polish headlights and then put fresh PPF on vs have chipped headlights.
