Cool Porsche Boxster Spyder - Custom Full-Frontal Clear Bra Install By Unique Car Care

This Porsche Boxster Spyder was in for a custom clear bra install to protect the paint against stone chips and keep the factory paint looking good for years to come. The owner had just purchased the car and made the trek down all the way from the South Shore after hearing about our services online. All high-impact areas were to be wrapped in paint protection film, including the complete hood, complete fenders, complete front bumper, side mirrors, headlights, rocker panels, door jambs and rear mud flaps.

Instead of using a precut kit like most installers do, we decided to do a fully custom install using bulk film. This allows us to wrap all panel edges for maximum coverage and a clean install without having unnecessary seams. Precut kits are computer generated for specific models and have lots of large openings around the park distance sensors, reflectors, etc… By doing a custom install, any openings are trimmed as close as possible, which really makes a huge difference in the overall appearance when finished.

To start, I washed the exterior and stripped any protection that may have been applied to the surface to ensure there was a perfect foundation for the film to adhere to.

After washing the exterior, I dried all surfaces and blew out all cracks & crevices with compressed air to ensure every bit of dirt was removed, which can interfere with the film install.

The headlights were removed in order to fully wrap the film behind and avoid any visible seams .

First up was the front bumper install…

Next up was the passenger side fender…

Then the drivers side fender…

P

Side mirrors…

Rocker panels and custom quarter panel splash guards…

We even covered the door jambs which protects the paint from getting scuffed when getting in & out of the car.

The area behind the rear wheels is a very high-impact area, so we installed custom ‘mud flaps’ in order to keep this area free of road rash.

Headlights reinstalled and covered in film…

The last panel of the install was the hood.

As you can see below, we trim all edges a little long so they can be completely wrapped over. When looking at the finished product, there are no visible seams, so it is virtually invisible and will provide protection against rocks, road debris, bug etching, etc..

Rick and his clear bra installer did an incredible job with the install. Very few people realize that the car has a bra on it which was my goal. Having a custom install with full coverage like makes waxing and paint cleaning/care much easier since you don't have to worry about build up on the edges. The rear mud flaps and rear flare guards are also doing their job, no damage to the paint and everything still looks great after 3300 miles.

Glad you are happy with the install and the film is holding up well...

I fell in love with your car when it was in the shop.

I'll definitely have to meet up with you at some events this year.

How do you care for the film?
Do you polish as you would paint?
Wax?
Clay?

Yes, the film can be washed, waxed and polished just like the clearcoat on your car. Light scratches and blemishes can be polished out as well. The film will look good for years to come as long as it is properly maintained.
