Default MXL2 - setting up Gear selection readout?

In the Math channels there are two ways to set it up, simple and not simple..

It seemed super easy in my old MXL, but the simple setup in the MXL2 didn't work well so I am trying to set it up in PreCalcGear using gear ratios, etc. Is this the correct way to go about it? If so, anyone have the correct settings for that page? If not, help!

Axle ratio needs to be rear end ratio. Then Save and Transmit.

This is the way to go.

You need your ring and pinion ratio in the "Axle Ratio" field. I am certain it is not "1".

Edit: Peter beat me to it.

For the G86/00 gearbox it is 9:35 or 1:3.889 so you would enter "3.889".

Thank you very much Scott, I was confused by the wording on a chart someone sent me and that answers the question!

Anytime....the reason Peter beat me to it the first time is that I was trying to find the ratio for you. This time I beat him!

I've had great success using the method that Roger shows in the video. If you're not changing gears a bunch, the predefined ratios are great.

Actually, for formula cars and sports racers with particular gear packs, just make up multiple configs and it's quick and clean to change!

With 2 sets of trans ratios and then about 30 drop gears, it's a lot to track! If it's something like your S2000 with pretty standard gears for each track, then changing configs makes sense.

I prefer to leave it off the dash and then do the math in analysis.
