Default What smartphone holder

For the people here running a smartphone in their race/sports car. What holders are "race track proof"? Which ones will keep the phone in place even during some off-track excursions?

I use a Rokform case and mount. I use the same case for my mountain biking. It works great for both applications and the case is simple to remove (and I don't normally use a case, just for biking or the car). With the car, I have an extra mount stuck onto the trailer wall next to the computer so the phone doesn't get misplaced and it's easy to access (to set an alarm for the drivers meeting, etc).

Here's a link to Amazon: iPhone 7 Plus case

I should add that I've been using this case style for years - I think my last 4 phones - and it's nice not to have to change the mount out with each new phone.

What type of mount do you have in the car?

They have a round stick on mount.

My dash has been replace with a nice smooth aluminum panel. The mount is perfect for it.

If you want fancy, or one that will work in your daily driver too, take a look at the ProClip mounts. I use them in my truck and my DD. Truck has a 'custom' mount specific for it and the DD uses a windshield suction cup ('cause it's just easy and works great). ProClip

Got 'em. Pretty solid stuff! No problem with the mount pushing the buttons on your phone?

I had that problem with my iPhone 6. Had to settle for positioning the phone off center
