Budgets :(
I'm in the very early planning for a fall 2017 European Delivery (Bucket List).
I'm not even sure if it will be solo, me and a friend, me and the wife, or friend with spouses. My friend does not have the same economic means, but has more interest in this trip than my wife.
Beyond the actual cost of the car, what other items should I budget for? Does anyone have a budget they prepared. Things not to to scrimp on; things to shoot the works on. For example, in these threads I've seen clear bra and a detail shop near the factory for the return trip home. Must stay hotels. It's a road trip not a track trip (other than possibly the Ring... just because )
Sorry just the CPA in me..... It's more about the experience, so I'd rather budget for the experience before spending dollars adding floor mats to the car.

Here was my itinerary, and I wouldn't change a thing. 16 days, 2k miles, 4 Swiss Alps passes, and track time at Spa and the Nurburgring. We had the time of our lives. If you want specific suggestions, I'd be more than willing to help with recommendations (hotels, restaurants, routes, etc...). Watch the special on Drive via YouTube. It will get you amped.
LA --> Munich (2 nights)
Munich --> Fussen (1 night)
Fussen --> Zurich (3 nights)
Zurich --> Strasbourg (3 nights)
Strasbourg --> Baden Baden via the Black Forest
Baden Baden --> Francorchamps (2 nights)
Francorchamps --> Nurburg (2 nights)
Nurburg --> Stuttgart (2 nights)
Stuttgart --> Munich (1 nights)
As for the budget, if it's truly a bucket list item and you can afford a new Porsche, it won't be an issue. The only area that was truly "expensive" was Zurich. My track day at Spa was 1k euro with an instructor, but well worth it. Driving on the Nurburgring is 30 euro per lap, or 200 euro to go as a passenger with one of the many hot shoes out there. Hotels were all very reasonable. I stayed at Hotel La Source in Spa and highly recommend it.

Drifting
Did a ED on a 2016 M3, 7 days in October. Including airfare, hotel, food, track time I think I spent around 4.5-5K for 2 people.
We stayed at decent but not the most expensive hotels (Leonardo in Munich, Congress & Motorsport @ the Ring, Hotel De La Source @ Spa, Le Meridian in Stuttgart etc) average was about 150 euro a night. Airfare was 2,400 for two, coach American Airlines.
Gas was about 1.35 to 1.50 a liter, spent about $350 in gas for 1,200 miles. Did 4 laps at the ring (27 euro a lap) and two sessions at Spa on a public open track day (100 euro a session).
