Today I replaced the serpentine belt to address a brief squawk sound at startup. The noise only happens when the engine is cold.

Not a difficult task once all the pastic crap is removed.

BTW all the pulleys are pastic as well.

Since the pulleys spin freely and the belt did not fix the noise...my next best guess is the starter. Since there is a lift in my garage this will be a DIY repair.

It appears that most of the engine fasteners are torx...I would like to purchase a set for future repairs.

What is needed?

Searched...lots of info on other Porsche models but not the Cayenne.

I have an '09 Cayenne and today I noticed that the compass thinks I'm facing North when I'm really facing South.

I've tried changing navigation directions, turning off the engine for a while, and changing map settings, but the Nav system and compass in the dashboard always thinks I'm facing 180 degrees opposite from the correct direction.

The actual GPS location is correct as I drive, but the map just shows me going backwards on the map.

Is there a way to reboot the PCM?

I was thinking about disconnecting the battery. If I do that, will I get prompted for a security code?

The local dealer service wants me to bring it in - which I can do but I can't until after Thanksgiving next week and I was hoping I could just 'reboot' it if possible...

Thanks!

Does anyone have any suggestions on any other quality body kits? I am looking at the Jubily front spoiler, but can not find a pic of one on a Turbo. I have seen a pic of one on a CS and also a pic of the entire front bumper modification, but I am looking for just a pic of the spoiler on a 955 turbo...any suggestions or for sale items appreciated!!:)

Ok, many of the bolts on the Pepper are the external torx type, the 2 I am trying to get out are the ones that hold the bottom of the engine torque arm bracket on, the bracket that has to be removed to get that 1 spark plug coil off. The E-torx socket set I have (Craftsman) is too big diameter wise to fit all the way down the hole to grab the bolt head. I'm trying to find a deep E12, preferably in 3/8" drive. The 1/4" drive sets are available but they only go up to E10. I've done more Google searches than I care to and the only thing I can find are these cheap Taiwan set.

I've ordered a set but I would like to find a quality set for long term. I've even looked for Snap-On, KD, S-K ect but none of them seem to make them. Has anyone found a quality set?

Searched the forum and found mudmans pictures on the ipod installation but didn't see many other tips or watch-outs. Is it pretty easy? Anything anyone recommends to watch out for?

One question off the bat: Does CDC need to be coded off at the dealer? Or left on? Found contradictory answers between here and renntech and the installation instructions from cartronics doesn't make note of it.

Thanks:cheers:

Hi all, I know PCA Mavericks do their monthly scenic car rides. We as Cayenne owners however get lumped into the Counsin Eddie category alot, and that is, we love our family but hate it when you come around.

I would like to try and do one specific scenic drive geared to Cayenne owners that would end with either an off road orientiering program or just a light scenic off road trail ride. Or any of these in general.

Please tell me I am just missing the current group that already does this or lets look at doing one a quarter, that would be fun and scratch free from something like a full Jeep escapade.

Any takers??? Cayenne Festival??....Chili contest??? with a name like Cayenne we could make all kinds of word plays on the idea

I have an '06 Cayenne Turbo S. In the summer I run 22' Techarts with 285/35-22's. For the winter I run the stock 20" wheels. The last two winters I ran Pirelli Scorpions in the vehicles stock size of 275/40-20. I think they are still too fat for the snow. I want to keep the 20" wheels and was looking for a narrower tire option. Has anyone tried a 255 on the stock 20" wheels? I was thinking of trying Blizzak LM-60 in 255/45-20. Overall diameter is about right. Just wasn't sure if they are too narrow for the wheel. Obviously won't look as cool as the wider tire but I think they'd be better in the snow. I appreciate your opinions.
Thanks.

So I took the phat p!g in for (among other things) to have the new cheap tires (Hankook Ventus STs on 20" technos) rebalanced due to a shimmy/slight vibration at high speeds and they told me the tires were slightly "feathered" on the inside causing the problem. What does that mean and is there anyway to correct it?

I realize you get what you pay for (and these were cheap) but they really do perform very well but this "feathering" problem was unexpected. Guess you can't have your cake and eat it too! :burnout:
