I am looking at this car: http://www.autosportdesigns.com/sale...s.aspx?ID=1756

I am not a fan of black cars but there are no 3.6's around. The car doesn't have a ton of mileage but it is high for me. Any areas of concern on these cars now that they are way off warranty?

I have never owned a Porsche before but worked for a dealer in the late 80's so I am partial to that gen car and love the 3.6. But I am not sure what I am getting myself into so any help would be great.

Using my Iphone the search function isn't working so please bear with me if this has been asked dozens of times before.

I have recently bought a used wastegate cat as a spare due to it being cheap but I am now toying with the idea of removing all of the internal core so in effect it becomes a straight through pipe. Is there any real pros and cons to doing this?

I am thinking that it will make the system breathe better with maybe advantages to the turbo being more responsive but having searched generally on the web and have read about back pressure and don't know if our cars need an element of this.

Any advice or would be appreciated.

In case it matters i am running a straight cat delete pipe and stock final silencer and a K29 turbo.

I've had my car for 2.5 yrs now and have put an average of 2.7K miles per year. The car currently has about 25K miles on it. Today I decided to do a hard run (spirited drive) for a total of about 70 miles.

I occasionally hit 110 to 120 for short burst but for the most part drove in the 70-80 MPH between 2nd through 4th gear.

It's looking like I am going to get about 150 miles on this tank.

That just seems incredibly low but I have no idea. I get the car checked every Spring for its annual oil change and servicing and have been told everything seems to be in order.

Is my mileage per tank normal? i also realize MPG changes from driver to driver but please somebody/everybody chime in. Thanks in advance.

I've asked this question on another forum, but haven't yet had a conclusive answer.

How much oil should my car be using? I seem to have used about 2 litres (~67 fl/oz for the US readers) so far and have only driven ~1800km (~1125 miles) - is this normal/acceptable?

I find it to be quite a lot, am I right? My car doesn't drip oil, nor does it smoke when I drive, so I can't see where it's all going...

I have only had the car a few weeks but it is intermitently sticking in mainly 3rd and 4th gear on deceleration. You can get it out of gear but it is in a bind. Up shifts work fine. I replaced the motor mounts for this and rattles but it only fixed the rattles. The car probably needs a clutch but I don't get how this would affect down shifts with the clutch pushed all the way in. Driving slower helps and 5th has done it a few times. Did not replace the trans mount as it looks fine.

A friend had a 91 turbo also and his did it too. He never fixed it. My 90 C2 never had this problem. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I'm new here, so be gentle ;)

I bought a 964 Turbo a couple of months ago. It's pretty standard, but has the factory X33 option (355BHP) and some tuning that took it to 401BHP. Since then I have put the cat back on to get it through it's German TUV, so it's probably more like 370-380 now, but still very quick :D

The car's standard suspension is pretty good for me, but it's riding too high. I find the suspension quite hard and don't want to make it any harder, what springs would you use to lower it? I'm considering just using H&R springs without changing the shock absorbers, but if it's going to make it too hard I'll probably need to change the shocks for some adjustable ones.

Any thoughts?
