Default FS: Porsche Junior car seat with airbag deactiv bar and buckle. 300$

Hi;

I have a Porsche Junior car seat deactivation bar with female buckle fitting along with the belt buckle male fitting for sale. It will come with the Porsche Junior car seat that has the LATCH system. The focus of this sale is the bar and buckle for deactivation for sale. 300$$

Local pickup only in the San Fernando Valley, 91344.

This was used in a 2004 Porsche 40th anniv carrera/911 in the front seat with the airbag inactivation bar and buckle. Then, it was used in the rear seat as well. It looks like the one in the picture shown below. Even if you, a private individual, installs the airbag inactivation bar and plugs in the seat belt buckle, you still have more to do. The dealer needs to instruct the car's computer to recognize that when the buckle is in the receiver to turn off the front passenger seat airbag. This Porsche Junior was manufactured in September 8, 2003. So, it is now around 7.5 years old.

The Porsche Junior with the Latch system is not a Porsche manufactured product. It is made by someone else. Britax sounds familiar but not entirely sure what brand. I can't find that it is labeled with Britax as the manufacturer. This seat can also be purchased in UK, EU etc. BMW and Mini also sell a similar looking product in the EU.

Here's the text and a picture to illustrate the seat. It has a form fitting foam brace that goes over the lap and is held in place by the lap abd shoulder portion of the seat belt. The picture shows that i think. It can recline a little, the back lifts up a little to support the back higher, it converts into being able to use the lap belt and shoulder belt without the lap brace device, and it also has some fixed metal telescoping extenders that come out of the rear base that attach to the latch/isofix brackets in the seat.

It is a Group 1 + 2 seat for children from 20 - 55 lbs. / approx. 9 month to 7 years of age. Porsche child seats can be fitted into position quickly and securely using the standard North American LATCH fastening system in conjunction with the Porsche Child Seat Fastener System which needs to be installed through your authorized Porsche dealer. Telescopic bars on the child seat lock into place between the backrest and the seat and hold it firmly to the passenger seat. Child seats may only be used in the Boxster, 911 or Cayman on the passenger seat in conjunction with the child seat fastener system. To avoid the risk of injury from a deploying airbag, never place a child age 12 or under in a front seating position without the dealer-installed airbag deactivation device. The outer rear seats in the Cayenne are fitted with the LATCH anchor system as standard. This system is specifically designed to attach the child seat directly to the seat. Telescopic rods on the LATCH child seats slide out and slot into anchor points between the backrest and seat, and hold the child seat securely against the backrest. Porsche LATCH child seats can alternatively be fitted using the standard three-point safety belts. When used in the Cayenne, use in rear seat only.

Thank you,
Marc

I have one of these and its a great, very well made and very secure car seat; my 5 y/o still sits in it (without use of the front bolster) in the back of wifey's Cayenne S. Suggest the OP consider reducing the price but I would recommend it for general use even if you don't need the deactivation bar.

Yes, there are expiration dates or expiry timeframes either recommended by safety organizations or the manufacturer or government agencies. Some may have the expiry date printed on the seat itself. The timeframe can vary between countries and manufacturers. Sitting on a booster derived from a child restraint could be different than one where the belts holding the child in are attached to the structure of the seat too.

I am selling the deactivation bar and the buckle which can be used with any other car seat and a newer one as well......which I might not have made clear enough.

Regards,
Marc

To clarify, I didn't mean to imply anything was wrong with your seat, but it was just information you or a potential buyer should be aware of. Many seats are good for 10 years, and as you said, a booster may not be as sensitive to age. GLWS.
