WTB - Alpine Deck Circa 1990
Anyone have an Alpine deck circa 1990 taking up space in storage? Previous owner installed some sort of Pioneer that needs to go. I'd love to relive high school with an Alpine. CD player preferred but cassette would be good too. Not like I have any of either to play, lol.
Thanks

If you don’t care about cassette or CD, might want to look at this ebay listing for Alpine 7618. I have mine since 1993 and still working well, and I think fits well with 993...

Thanks for the link akrca4, hadn't seen those on ebay.
Don't think I want to bother with (pay for) a CD changer. It's just unnecessary.
There's a 7909 30 yr anniversary model currently for sale for 2 P-bucks. Ouch.
In a perfect world there'd be a way to wire up bluetooth to one of these beauties.

I have also been hunting for something old school for my 964 but anything decent in good condition is priced ridiculously high and doesn’t really offer the connectivity I’m after. At the moment this is looking like a good option: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-or-radio.html.
It has Bluetooth, looks period correct, has decent power. Just not sure how it sounds.

I am using Tranzit Blu to get the bluetooth audio, and it also works with Siri. Works pretty well for me and sound quality is still pretty good since it is going through hard wire to the FM antenna cable.

I thought about getting the 7909 before I got my 7618 but can €™t afford it as a student back then (I think it was close to $1k 20 years ago). The 7618 is also without pre-amp so the sound quality is actually very good and clean.

Always loved the look of the old Alpine's and had one in my first Audi in '84. Thought I found a great deal on one in Hong Kong but only afterward realized that after I installed it, couldn't get great radio reception as the frequency steps are different in Asia than in the U.S. Oh well, the cassette sounded great though.
