1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe (964)
Colour: Guards Red
Engine: 3.6 litre, 6 cyl. 250 bhp
Interior: Black partial leather
Transmission: Tiptronic
Mileage: 91,864
VIN: WPOAB2962MS410357
Plates: IXXI C2
I purchased this car in 2006 with 88,000 miles. It is the most reliable car I've ever owned, and the only issues I've had with it are a couple of failing power window switches, and a poor A/C.
It currently has a G-pipe in place of the secondary muffler. The secondary muffler comes with the car, if desired. The car has a performance chip installed, and the original chip is also included. The car has a sunroof. The original toolkit and unused spare, jack etc. are present, as is a footpump.
Wheels are 17" (replacing the original Design 90 16"), Porsche model 986 362 124 01 (front), 986 362 126 06 (rear). Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 205/50ZR17 (front) and 255/40ZR17 (rear) with plenty of tread remaining.
The car comes with complete service documentation, the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and all booklets etc., dating back to 1993. It was delivered new to a customer in Princeton, New Jersey, but soon after ('93 or earlier) changed hands to an owner in Southern California and has been here ever since. Compression tests made 5,000 miles ago were even across all six cylinders.
It runs like a dream and is exhilarating to drive. The acceleration on kick-down is, frankly, terrifying (I've only tried it a couple of times). Corners as if on rails. It's very easy to break the speed limit in this car: you have been warned :-) The Tiptronic works very well and offers both auto and manual modes, with several shift programs that are selected automatically depending on how you drive.
No dents, no dings. Some touched up match-head size paint chips on front bonnet. Some wear on driver side seat bolster. Carpets a bit tatty. Overall in excellent condition for its almost 20 years.
Always passes smog very easily.
List of parts/work since I bought the car:
12/24/08: Pair hood dampers
08/01/08: New battery
07/01/08: Air filter
05/28/08: New front pads, sensors, oil change
05/22/07: Alignment
04/19/07: Rear spoiler screen
03/26/07: Diagnostic cover, seatbelt cover
07/27/06: Freon charge, new A/C valves
07/15/06: purchased
This Porsche needs nothing - everything works as far as I am aware.
I am selling because a) I hardly ever drive the car (as you can see from the mileage), b) I have a 914 that takes up what spare time I have.
Asking $17,000 or best offer. See after photos for contact details.
