Rick Betterley's 993 track car for sale
Would really like to keep this car in the Rennlist family, which has done so much to help me enjoy and improve my track experience:
Offering my 993 track car to the next lucky owner. Fast, superb handling, and beautiful - the last of the air cooled 911s. Perfect for club racing or Drivers Ed.
I bought this car after the previous owner had her professionally built as a Porsche Club racer; only raced once (where she won her class), then came to me. I was looking for a lightly used race car, and found a good one. Only DEs since I bought her.
This car has a stock motor for reliability, shorter gear ratios for performance, a Porsche Motorsports Limited Slip, and Moton Club Sport shocks with 700/900 lb. springs. Lightened to 2975 lbs (dry/no driver).
Recent work included a transmission rebuild and re-gearing in 2011 and regular replacement of items such as front suspension components and rear axles (2012/13).
Always maintained by a finicky Porsche independent shop to a high level of safety and reliability.
Car has a welded full cage tied into A & B pillars, Momo single piece race buckets (Acropolis Evo VTR), Schroth and TeamTec 6 point harnesses.
Includes 2 sets of wheels:
* 1 set of Fikse Mach-5 (satin finished) 8" and 10"x18" wheels with used Hoosier R6 tires (pictured) (245/35 and 285/30)
* 1 set of BBS-built Classic wheels (black, see picture) 8.5" and 10"x18" wheels with fresh Michelin Super Sports (235/40/18 and 275/35/18 (10/32nd front/8/32nd rear tread depth)
Includes an AiM MXL Pista data dash and SmartyCam integrated camera.
Just had oil and filters changed, so the car is ready to be taken to the track today. Brake pads and rotors are in good condition (new pads included with car).
I love this car - and several pro coaches that have driven it agree. It is wonderful track car.
For further details, please contact me, Rick Betterley - rbetterley at betterley.com.
Asking $49,000. No dreamers, please.

Now that winter is at least part way through, I thought I should remind fans of track 993s that my car is for sale.
I have 2 additional sets of wheels that I would consider including - a set of CCWs and a set of Forgelines.

Say it isn't so!
Great car and owner! Rick has probably down played how good the car is!
Hey Rick, does this mean you won't be around for me to chase anymore?

Rick, what are your plans? New car or a change of hobbies. Nice to see the car again.

Nice to hear from you; as mentioned above, building a Cayman off of a 2009 S. Graphics by Dan Porter down your way (he knew my car back when it was your car).

You know, this 993 was/is one heck of a car. I have had a blast with it since buying from you. You did a great job conceiving and building it. All I ever did was drive and maintain (although I did put in a set of slightly longer gears during the trans rebuild). Shorter gears are a hoot.
Saw your current car on the Forgeline site when I was picking out my new rims.
Car needs a good home if you have any suggestions.

Rick, If I come across someone looking for a turn key car I'll let them know about the 993.
A guy in Cincinnati has John Wright building a Cayman S PDK for NASA. The Cayman is a nice platform.
