Dealer Test Drive Ends in Disaster for This Poor Porsche 911
By Brett Foote

A truly strange incident, if we've ever seen one.

That is my Porsche dealer in Louisville. Not sure how a 35 MPH test drive gets a car airborne.

I'm not sure where you read that it was a 35MPH test drive, but every Porsche that I've ever tested has been significantly faster. If I drive it, I typically buy it, but 35MPH is unheard of in test drives of Porsche vehicles.

That said, this exact incident was apparently the cause of someone driving an Alfa poorly, not the Porsche. The Alfa was in for service and the tech was cut off by a delivery van and he was forced to over-correct, and in doing so, punched the accelerator in an attempt to get out of the vans way...which he did successfully. He then slid over 30 feet at roughly 55MPH on the rain-soaked parking lot and into three different vehicles before sliding over the Porsche.

Crazy! Reminds me of when I was a teenager and really wanted a motocross bike, since my friend had one and took me for rides. I kept asking my Dad and he finally said, "Ok, let me see if you can handle one?!" So I got onto his bike and proceeded to run it straight into the back of our car!

So that was that. Haha
