One of the few surviving photos I have of my first car: '69 GTO in Verdure Green/black vinyl at a wedding I was a groomsman for. 400ci/350HP. My BEST 1/4 time running open air filter and Mickey Thompson slicks was 14.7 @ 104. Like a minivan today.

Traded it in '73 for a one owner 3300 mile '70 E-type in Regency Red over Biscuit with a black OEM hardtop. MSRP on that car in 1970 was $5500 with the removable hardtop. I paid $3300 minus $1400 trade on GTO. Drove the Jaguar year round for 2.5 years and sold it in '75 to help fund grad school. So many fond memories of that car. It was like putting on a fine leather glove to drive it (at least it felt like it at the time after coming from American muscle). It had a bad synchro from 1-2 and you had to shift it just right. I really loved that car and it never let me down.

Hi smiling’. Thanks for your interest, but I am afraid we cannot issue a PSTOF license at this time. Our Dir. of Membership has placed you on the waiting list as a priority applicant. Just let here know when you reach the Senior age. The old adage, horse shoes & hand grenades.
Thanks for your understanding of the guidelines.

My 1968 Z28. Worth quite a bit of money now. But back then I was getting married the first time and I needed cash.

I'd like dibs on #61. Age at which I bought my first Porsche. I've owned 7 different ones over the past 25.9 years (turn 87 in a couple of weeks). All 928's, drove several on race tracks with the Porsche DE program for about 15 years, am charter member of 928 Owners Club. Bought the 928 based on recommendation from Hans Mezger, with whom I was having lunch after one of several technical meetings at Weissach in the latter 1980's. Greatest GT car of the 20th century??

Guten Tag,

Gary

I loved that car. Especially the sounds. It was a Phase 2 I ordered from the dealer in the summer of 1968 and took delivery in September 1968.That may be the difference in the years. Paid $3600 + sales tax.

Cool

A few photos of the journey (not in chronological order):

A few models of past cars including SL55AMG (berry red interior) and Lambo 560-4 (bright red interior) which I test drove, and bought while on hubby’s business trip (he saw it for the first time when the truck pulled in front of the house!)

991.1 GT3RS during our Treffen to Asheville. Loved the purple!!

1995 993 Polar over Chestnut leather with factory rear-seat delete. Bought with 29k miles and sold 2 yrs later with 34k miles. If we had another garage space it would likely still be with us.

Peridot Cayman R - my first Porsche love and the ONLY one I regret selling! Countless track days. It was a “Goldilocks” car: not too much, not too little…just right (at the time). This is one of my fave photos, again, late afternoon (low) sun made the paint glow as I picked it up from service.

981 GT4 at WGI entering Bus Stop. It was an FUN day! Agate Grey.

Current 718 GT4 PTS Slate Grey at Pitt Race

2021 Macan GTS (current) on delivery day in Dec 2020

Just for fun, ,a birthday cake at a friend’s celebration

2018 Panamera 4. With rear seats folded, we once got a mid-size gas grille in the back, with room to spare! Delivery day.

981 GT4 Racing Yellow (hubby’s choice until he got the build slot for the RS), with Cayman R and 2015 Panamera GTS - not the most beautiful from certain angles BUT one of the best sounding V8 we’ve owned! The entire house would vibrate when it was cold-started.

Current 718 Slate Grey GT4 seat inserts I sourced some “Porsche Script” OEM fabric from Germany through my service manager, and he shipped it to P1 Designs in TX for the seat inserts. I wanted something unique, very understated, and as “OEM” as possible. He suggested this fabric which was an option on Porsches in past decades. It was exactly the look I wanted. With “battleship” grey as my choice, I like the somewhat “stealth” look and think these seat inserts complete the theme. The yellow key blades are from eBay, and match the brake calipers (PCCB).

981GT4 “siblings” in the driveway. Had them both for about 6 mo before the Racing Yellow turned into the RS.

One of my fave pics of the Agate Grey, in late afternoon sun at Summit Point.
