Intro - Joining the GT4 club
Hey guys, My first post on this forum...but longtime Rennlister and I usually hang out over on the 6-GT3 and Racing/DE forums.
Yesterday I joined the GT4 club and bought a 2020 that I stumbled upon at my local dealer. I went to look at a low miles 2016 GT4 they had and when I walked into the showroom they had a 2020 sitting there. When I asked about it they said the guy who ordered it backed out of the order just before it's arrival so they had it on the sales floor now. Driving the 2016 and 2020 back to back was very cool, the 2020 is definitely a huge leap forward from the seat of my pants at least. So looking at the car it was spec'd almost exactly as I would have built one out myself, so I couldn't resist.
So now my track appliance 6-GT3 has a stablemate! Looking forward to learning from you all here!

Yes, welcome to the GT4 club, and please elaborate on what "huge leap forward" means. Do my eyes deceive or is that the regular white? Cool whichever! Thanks and enjoy!

Not my intention to ruffle any feathers here. On paper the 2020 doesn't look too different from the 2016...a bit more power, more aero, updated stuff just b/c it's 4 years newer. Seat of the pants it feels much more alive than the 2016 did that I drove. Maybe it's torque delivery and gearing combined w/ a bit more power. I also live at altitude (about 5000 ft) so with an NA motor you loose some that may have made the 2016 feel more sluggish than it would at sea level. Either way they are both awesome cars. I was lucky to be able to choose between the two as currently the only way most us can drive a 2020 is if you special order one for yourself and wait a few months for it to arrive. In the end the price difference between the two wasn't that much (relatively) so the 2020 was the way I chose to go. I've owned a few Porsches, never thought I would buy a brand new Porsche but here I am!

No no no, certainly no offense taken, just want to see what folks think are the differences in the two versions. Maybe the 981 GT4 would feel similar to the 718 GT4 with a header and tune, for example. I love mine every time driving it, for 16k miles. Thanks for posting! Did you also introduce yourself on the 718 GT4 sub-forum?

NoGaBiker, I have the same question. I have a 981 GT4 on which I'm planning on doing the same mods. I had a 987 S that, among many other mods, I did headers and a Softronic tune to and was very pleased with the results. I have a few questions regarding your mods that I will PM you about as not to highjack this thread.

I wish I still had ALL of them. Many I sold thinking at the time I made "good" money on that car.... If I only knew. I have learned not to throughout a number, no matter how ridiculous it may seem, nor comment on a number offered me on a car I don't want to sell. That happened to me on the '73 RS and "89 930. Well, at least I had an opportunity to enjoy them for a time and pass on stewardship to another enthusiast.
