Has anyone tried the Durametric Diagnostic Tool on a 2016 Spider or GT4
As has been reported Durametric does not recommend their tool for the 981 beyond 2015. For now I would like to just be able to reset the oil change indicator. There is a chance it may for for that limited purpose. Has anyone taken a chance and tried it on a 981 3.8? I have a 2016 Spider I want to try it on.
BTW its been about 12 years since i have posted on here, I used to have a 997 GT3 did a lot of track time with it. Back with the P cars with this Spider.

Have one that came with 2016 GT4 just purchased. Prior owner used it. I sent it back to Durametric for upgrade to Professional. They gave me a BS trade in value as I wasn’t original purchaser. So I worked it out with prior owner to pay lesser upgrade fee. No word yet from Durametric. Not a fan of this company so far.

My Enthusiast version works. I had it leftover from my 987. It does not have all the functionality it had with the 987 but it does most everything I need for regular maintenance.

Thanks for the responses. I ordered it. I plan on keeping this car for some time so as long as i can get the oil reset for now i am good with it.

For those of you who have used the durametric on a 2016 spider, what version or car did you select in the set up mode? Since the 2016 is not yet officially supported, what model did you select when setting up the software?
The image below is from the manual, i have not yet connected it to actually set it up.I assume it would show a 981 up to 2015, is that what you used or did you use the 911 specific to the 3.8 liter motor?
Thanks for the advise.

I have not used mine in a while but with the latest software you will see an option for a 2013+ Porsche Cayman 981. At least that is how it was labeled in 6.5.5.11. The newest software is 6.5.6.5 and the 2016 Cayman is still not officially supported but the key functions like service reset have worked for me in the past.

I have the pro version (as we've used it on many various models) and actually just reset the service indicators on my '16 spyder. Worked fine. Just selected 981 boxster and picked instrumental cluster (if I remember correctly). No issues.

My Durametric works fine on my 2016 Cayman S and my 2016 Cayenne base.

Thanks all for the input. It works fine and was easy to use. My bother has a 2014 S so we will do his next. Appreciate the input, when you call Durametric they are pretty conservative but i guess they have a reason to not yet support the 2016+ cars.
