Michelin Pilot Sport 5s...who got'em? Who git'nem?
For those who didn't already know, it looks like the PS5S are in Europe already, and coming to US in a week...supposedly. Just getting a heat check on what GT4 owners are doing, and given supply issues, is it worth going new gen, or just try to scoop up what's left.

"We’ve driven our fair share of vehicles on Michelin’s Pilot Sport 4s. These tires represent remarkable engineering and handling capabilities. According to Michelin, the Pilot Sport 5s will be even more impressive once they’re available. In tests done by German certification agency Technischer Überwachungsverein, or TÜV, as well as the German Motor Vehicle Monitoring Association known as DEKRA, the Pilot Sport 5 beat out Bridgestone’s Potenza Sport, Continental’s PremiumContact 6, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5, and in terms of longevity, wet-weather braking, wet-weather handling, and dry braking on a https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/43000/2022-volkswagen-golf-gti-and-golf-r-first-drive-review-hot-hatches-frigid-controls. ...As for when you’ll be able to get your hands on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 5s, they’re already available in Europe. The United States will start getting them on March 1. When they launch, they’ll be available in 50 dimensions to fit all your needs, from 17 to 21 inches. I can’t wait to see how Michelin made the best tire around better. "

In another thread it was discussed that the Pilot Sport 5 is the update for the Pilot Sport 4 line. The Pilot Sport 4S line is a different higher performance variant. If accurate, the 4S is likely better suited for our cars until the 5S comes out. Hopefully in a Porsche N0 version in the correct sizes.

Pilot Sport 4 was released in January 2016.
Pilot Sport 4s was released in January 2017.
We can probably expect the Pilot Sport 5s next year.

Have recently put 4S's on both my 981 spyder and 991.1 turbo S coupe. Very happy with them- huge improvement from the Pirellis that came on both cars.

Main thing at first was the Michelins were a LOT quieter. Not planning on tracking either car but surely will be every bit as sticky as the Pirellis. Found the Pirellis to be very noisy on pretty much every type of surface.

Heard the PS5 isn't a replacement for the PS4S. Only replacing the orig. PS4. Not in terms of ultimate grip for dry performance.
No clue if it's true or not... Don't care. My PS4S's on my Turbo S haven't skipped a beat on very spirited mountain drives and held pretty dang good at the track day as well.
Not really much more needed on the street in terms of grip. If you don't, you're risking your life and others. Track's a different story.
