hm yup, looks like additional screw points into the rocker panel to mount the side vents. Schnell on P9 posted the part: http://www.planet-9.com/981-cayman-b...tml#post971688

True. But I would think that is an area of having low risk of developing rust. No need to seal water out IMO.

I drove 300 miles today after applying pressure for several minutes last night. The trim piece stayed in place and nicely flush.

Could be a problem if there is no drain hole in the void of the rear hatch area where the wing is attached. I say this as a person who when through two months of agony trying to track down an interior leak in another car. I hate water!

My driver side trim piece on the wing is also not flush, pressure does nothing. Agree, looks, like double sided tape.

You're welcome.

I was able to get the seal to lay down by applying pressure around the the seal-upright area, essentially pushing the seal down further around the upright. Time will tell.

I inspected two cars at the dealer yesterday and both appeared to be fine.

Maybe some assembly required?

Maybe some owners can lift up #3 before pushing it down and take a peek?

Here are some photos from my car. I haven't tried to remedy this yet. The flash makes it look worse than it probably is. Also, from most typical viewing angles, it's not as obvious. It's more obvious here due to the trunk being raised.

Same for me. Driver's side was raised from delivery day.

There are all different grades of double stick tape strength,
the VHB, Very High Bonding strength would be a suggestion
but if you ever attempted to removed it then extreme care is needed not to damage paint
