Default Advertising material for GT4, but lots of questions.

Just got this box in FedEx. Looks like the toy steering wheel will will hold an iPhone, but there is no link to the software, or explanation at all. Any ideas?

Did you order a GT4 or already receive it? Looks like you are in the U.S. I was wondering if they did gifts like these (BMW does it for M cars).

You're probably right about it holding a smartphone, in which instructions and software wouldn't be necessary. You'd just play a racing game on your phone that supports using tilt controls, and turning the wheel with the smartphone fastened (in landscape orientation) will trigger the phone's accelerometer/gyroscope. It's just like the Nintendo Wii Wheel.

I'm in the US and I have a GT4 on order for September/October delivery. I must be on some list. I also got a steel cover book on the 918 a while ago (but sure did not order one of those!).

But I need a URL to get the software or at least the name of the app I should get!

Interesting!

I just found out I have a FedEx box sitting at home from Porsche as well. I'm sure other GT4 folks in the U.S. will be seeing this today as well.

That's a pretty nice freebie, btw! How does the size and material quality of that wheel compare to a real one?

I don't believe this...I just checked the front door and I have a FedEx door tag lol. Signature requested. I guess I'll be driving to the hub to get this one. Our hub is a huge pain in the *** to deal with.

I was out for a bit and guess I missed it.

Diameter is 11" and the Alcantara feels "real." I went for the leather option in real life. Weight is 1 lb. 7 oz without smartphone.

I got the same thing. There was a card in mine saying that the steering wheel was for a smartphone app called Real Racing 3. There's an activation code to get the app for free and to get a GT4 to drive in the game.

I guess Porsche has stepped up their advertising game! I remember when people just got a pen or paperweight. That's a good sized wheel, can we retrofit an airbag?

I haven't tried the game yet, but I need to give credit to the marketing folks for this. It's a cool steering wheel similar to the one in the GT4 so it's a good way to get customers even more excited to get their GT4s.
