Competition Motorsport is proud to introduce the CMS Performance Roll Bar, the strongest and safest bolt-in roll bar on the market for your Porsche 981 Cayman (base, S, GTS, and GT4). In designing our roll bar, safety and structural rigidity were our primary goals. That's why we use thicker 1.75" x .120" wall 4130 CrMo tubing, which meets or exceeds PCA, SCCA, and NASA requirements for Time Trial racing (wheel-to-wheel racing requires a full cage).

The harness bars are designed to place harness shoulder straps at the proper angle (0° to -20°) to the driver, regardless of seat position, without cutting the center carpeted "hump". This design also provides an ideal mount for a Smarty Cam! Our use of thicker CrMo tubing throughout allowed us to keep the driver's rear view unobstructed by rear diagonal braces. This also allows unfettered access to the engine cover with the roll bar in place.

The rear kickers bolt to the rear shock towers, providing the safest possible mounting point. This adds tremendous rigidity to the rear chassis and suspension. The main roll hoop is mounted to the frame structure across the rear bulkhead.

Fully TIG welded by a master welder, the integrity, fit, and finish of the Competition Motorsport roll bar is unsurpassed. We offer a full range of powder-coat colors to match your Porsche, or satin black for a more stealth appearance.

Our sale price includes shipping (in the contiguous U.S.) and powder coating any color you like.

I like the design with no carpet cutting!

What does it weigh?

Can you take a picture or measure the gap between the lateral harness bar and the firewall? It looks like a larger gap than others, which may limit how far the seat can go back. Might just be the angle of the pic

Also, can you elaborate on the rear bolting direct to the shock towers? Is this different than the other bars?

Thanks!
Matt

Matt- seats maintain the full range of travel. The rear mounts to the shock towers as is typical for a bolt in bar in the 981.

still looks to high for a hans/harness, so seems pointless to fit it imo.

the belts need to come from 2" below horizontal and this looks no where near.

Please get your facts correct. This is the internet and we value accuracy over speed of response.

Curious on the total weight added as well (in general for these roll bars).

Unless you are short in height (in which case the oem sport bucket isn't the correct seat for you anyway), the CMS bar maintains the correct harness angle as prescribed by the harness manufacturers.

Looks great! Good job on the placement of the harness bar and unobstructed rear view as well as no carpet cutting. I have a GMG bar in my GT4 but the harness bar is high. I like the product but there is no denying the harnesses go upwards to the bar even with the seat as high as I can get it.

Any photos with a driver belted in?
Harness bar looks too high.
Also, I thought NASA required a diagonal brace?

Is there any cutting of any kind required for installation?

49 pounds. We are the only manufacturer using 1.75" .120 tubing for maximum strength.

Each of the attachment points will require trimming of the plastic pieces. We offer templates for you to cut your existing pieces or can offer you additional oem interior trim pieces precut (at an additional charge) so you can retain your oem pieces.
