Default Ice isn't fun. Also cheap OEM RS design wheels

Slid into a curb this morning. My own fault. However I did find cheap OEM Black RS design front and rears. Getting the rear refinished and the front replaced. Hope this can help you guys.

Never thought of using it as a hose holder. That's an idea.

Once your new wheel(s) are on, remember to get that alignment checked. Looked like that was a pretty hard hit.

I was going to however the original no-seasons are down to 7/32nds. They are getting replaced in spring/April with summers so I was thinking about not bothering for now. Car has been straight and true since the incident. Not sure tbh

Nice selection of cars you have there! Something for all purposes!

I'd say you should get the alignment checked as well but if you are replacing tires soon anyways, might as well wait. Tracking straight doesn't mean something didn't get borked. Looks like the front wheel almost cracked through.

Why not run a dedicated winter set? Would really help against this.

Thanks for linking your parts source.

I 100% agree. All my cars have dedicated rubber, however I am not going to throw out the "free" tyres that come on the car. Usually I run through whatever comes on a vehicle prior to switching to dedicated compounds and another set of wheels. Oh and winter rubber would have likely not helped here. I slid on ice because of something stupid I did. Technology can only mitigate so much stupid.

My wording wasn't clear. By "dedicated", I meant a second set of winters. So you wouldn't be throwing out what the car came with (I'd be against that as well). You would be spending the extra $1.5 to 2k (say on tirerack) for a set of wheels & tires. Even on ice, Nokians, Bridgestone Blizzak's or Michelin X-ice's are more progressive when they do let go, and they do let go just a bit later. YMMV.

Good to hear you are taking it in stride..
