Bought the wife a Macan S in July...

She loves it, got a Cobb Tune and Fabspeed exhaust for Christmas...

After fixing it up, I love it,

Couldnt take hers so traded the 550ix on one for me.

Whats wrong with having two?

A few months ago, I traded in my 991 for a Macan S (my 19th Porsche since 1971) and I am hugely happy. I find that the best way to prevent infecting your spouse with Macan fever is abstinence. Never let her drive it. EVER.

As an aside, I never really thought about it until a few weeks ago, but... Porsche has won 19 Le Mans overall victories. I have owned 19 Porsches. And they didn't start winning overall victories at Le Mans until the year I bought my first Porsche. Coincidence? Absolutely. LOL! But fun to think about, non-the-less.
Even more surprisingly, 1971 was the year Steve McQueen starred in the movie "Le Mans". He was driving for Porsche's team. Coincidence? I think not!

I miss my Macan badly, I bought a 2015 S when they first came out, but my commute for work tripled in distance and I already had 40k miles on her so I got rid of her for something I felt less bad about putting the miles on.

This is a problem with Porsches: worrying about putting too many miles on them, both because of worrying about warranty running out and because of lower trade-in value.

There's are 2 simple solutions to that problem.
  1. Never sell any of the Porsches you buy and then you don't have to worry about the mileage or resale value (my MO).
  2. Buy them like you never plan to sell them, and if you do end up selling it, just take what you can get for it. There's no point in not driving and enjoying a car you own in consideration of the next owner, who you likely don't even know.

Damn! The plan was to keep the new Macan for 3-5 years and then trade for a new one. I guess that plan is out the window.

The next-gen #Porsche Macan will join the Taycan as an all-electric model line: https://www.pca.org/news/2019-02-26/...Uxy53zLiFcZSYQ

Yes, I have this very problem. I sold my E46 M3 and bought a 2017 Macan in 2018. It was supposed to be my DD (I've got a 911TT for fun) and our "road trip car". Now I can hardly keep her out of it. And she puts it in Sport nd uses all up all my gas.

I got a Macan Sport as a loaner a few days ago and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The 4 cyl had plenty of pep, the ride was smooth.
The interior wasn't as luxurious as my Cayenne S but thats to be expected at that price point. For DD it works great imo, really considering one for my next DD.

The Macan S is a 3.0 v6 with twin turbos. Not a 4.

Default Macan Sport vs Macan S

Just wanted to help remind readers not to confuse the terminology - Macan Sport is not the same as the Macan S. Sport is a 4cyl Base with cosmetic upgrades. Macan S is the 6 cylinder twin turbo. Sometimes folks think the S means sport, which it actually does mean... Porsche can really split hairs with naming its trim levels.
Why is the Porsche Macan Turbo with Performance Package not called a Turbo S? Why does the coming all electric Taycan have a Turbo S model?
Silly Germans.

Because an S - Sport would just be redundant...

To further clarify: The Sport package gives you more then cosmetics, it includes Active Suspension, Sport Exhaust, Sport Chrono package etc.
