Default Macan S Serious issue

I'm a very new Macan owner and its also my first Porsche. We've owned several German cars, 8 BMW's of which we still own 3, 1 Mercedes and 1 Audi and I didn't see this issue coming at all! My wife has a 2016 X5 M-Sport package as her daily driver and its a great vehicle, she has no complaints. We bought the Macan to replace my aging 335i which has been my daily driver for the last 3 yrs. The Macan is supposed to be my new daily driver. The problem is my wife, I can't keep her away from it! She now thinks she is supposed to drive it every chance she gets. It's mine. She had her chance last year and she chose her X5. This time was my turn and I chose the Macan. Has anyone else had this issue?

Easy fix, trade in the wife for a newer model.

Seriously though, probably a nice problem to have as it shows how good the Macan is as a daily. I just pulled the trigger on a CPO Macan S on Friday, pick it up on Saturday and super excited to have another Porsche in the fold.

Ha! Yes, same problem. In February, we bought my wife a new Q7 to replace her five-year old Odyssey. After a couple of days, we needed to take it to the Dealer for a small audio issue. I offered to switch cars for a couple of days and let her drive my Macan GTS and I would deal with her Audi and the dealer loaner. I never got the Macan back. She loves it. I could have pressed the issue but after her 10+ years in a minivan, she was due.

I drove the Q7 for six months or so. Then I traded it for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a surprisingly good all-around daily driver for a midwestern climate. A decent value as well.

Trade hers on a Macan GTS or Turbo for you. Best case you'll get yourself a nice upgrade - worst case, you'll get your Macan back and she'll get a nice upgrade over the BMW she doesn't like anymore. Can't really blame her...

Damn! Same issue. Wife had a 17 X3. All the bells and whistles. I bought a 15 Macan S for myself and put a COBB tune in it. She drove it and said “I didnt know cars could be this fun”! I now have an X3 with all the bells and whistles...

My wife bought the Macan Turbo by herself. I'm just the mechanic and wash boy! Occasionally, she lets me drive it.

My wife loves her new Macan (she drove a older Cayenne before).

She didn't even make much noise when I unloaded my GT4 and bought a 997.1 GT3!

As you already know, Porsche Fever is hugely contagious. Particularly so among family members. My son contacted it from me at the young age of three, many decades ago. My wife, surprisingly has been somewhat immune. We have often been a two Porsche household over the years but my wife has been resistant in the long term. A few months ago, I traded in my 991 for a Macan S (my 19th Porsche since 1971) and I am hugely happy. I find that the best way to prevent infecting your spouse with Macan fever is abstinence. Never let her drive it. EVER.

As an aside, I never really thought about it until a few weeks ago, but... Porsche has won 19 Le Mans overall victories. I have owned 19 Porsches. And they didn't start winning overall victories at Le Mans until the year I bought my first Porsche. Coincidence? Absolutely. LOL! But fun to think about, non-the-less.

The only time I get to drive the Macan is to go put gas in it...

That is, extinguish the "need gas light", trip.

It's by far the best driving car in its segment. I test drove Audi, BMW, and MB before settling on the Porsche.

We shall see. My wife just bought one. She's going to pick it up on Saturday but then she)'s leaving for a week on Tuesday. I'd say it's about even money right now whether she leaves it here or takes it to the airport with her. :
