After 15 years of owning a Mercedes - love the Macan - one of the best vehicles I have owned - for me it's a daily driver - I smile every time I get in - love the "sport" mode - like a rocket ship! I live in MN so looking forward to how it performs during the winter months - was great in the rain yesterday! lol

You get what you pay for. The Macan is very nicely built, with high quality materials and our is assembled flawlessly. Ride is bank vault solid and it is fun to drive. I'd buy it again and ours is a base.

As PJ mentioned - the ride is solid and when you close the doors - bank vault solid - you don't find that on a lot of vehicles.

You guys are really making me lean strongly towards the Macan S. The BMW M550i looks like a blast to drive as well at a similar price point, and the Panamera is honestly a bit too long for city usage although it is the most intriguing one in terms of style and looks. The Lexus LX 570 and LC 500 I also considered as a daily driver and both are reputed to have high reliability. I don't love the Macan's looks except at nighttime when you approach it from the front, but objectively EVERYONE seems to really love this car and that says something. It seems like the Macan owners love their Macans more than the Panamera owners love their Panamera.

Hey Silly Goose - I was in your shoes early this year - looking at the M550i - great car - comfort, speed, without the M5 price - but after driving the Macan, I was hooked. I actually looked all over the US for the car I wanted - found it in Chicago and have not looked back! And driving in Sport is a blast!!! lol

So youre in Chicago doing heavy city driving on a regular basis? Honestly i kind of like the BMW interior more, but the exterior styling is very bland. Its a good amount of car for the money though. I believe it is the cheapest german v8 you can buy unless im mistaken. Perhaps i will in fact join the Macan bandwagon shortly as everyone seems to fall in love with it.

Sure would even though we've had the famous oil leak fix. Have a 2017 GTS and will probably order a new one next winter so it comes about the time the warranty goes out on this one... it is primarily my wife's DD but I enjoy it every time I get to drive it, and find it hard to believe it is really a heavy 4 door SUV ( and built off the same underpinnings as my previous Q5). My wife loves it.

Yes, but would more seriously cross shop a X3M and GLC63.

I really liked my X3 for the amount of volume it had for cargo, which you compromise with the Macan. I think the X3's seats were a bit more comfortable than even the 14-way seats on the Macan. Even with RFTs, the ride was quite good and the handing was fine, however IMO with the steering and shifting not quite as refined as in the Macan. As far as reliability goes, had lots of issues with the X3, fortunately while still under PO warranty. I generally buy CPOs and the changes to BMW's CPO program were a real turn-off, That was one reason I turned to Porsche, who seems to have one of the best CPO programs in business.

On our second Macan and prolly a third after lease is up. There is literally no other vehicle on the US market that fits my wife’s needs as well, and she also loves the aesthetics and all the intangibles.
