How many of you are using your macans for high mileage daily driving? I will take delivery of my New Macan S in 4 weeks and was wondering if it would be maybe better to buy a cheap used car for some of the daily long distance driving. What are your overall experience/thoughts on using the macan/s for daily driving and to put so many miles on?

Makes no sense to me to buy a second car. The costs of the second car will be more than the added depreciation on the Macan. And why deprive yourself driving around a PoS to save wear and tear on the Macan.


Or, buy a 911 for the daily.

I’m retired so daily driving is pretty low, but if I was working and commuting I would not hesitate to drive my S daily.

Of course cost is one important aspect here but my main concern is the fact that I will be visiting various places at several locations every day. Parking structures/lots in my area are very narrow and people don't care much about other peoples property. I just don't want to sweat each time I look for a parking space and don't want the car to look like **** after 6 month.

Macan is great but if doing that many miles I’d consider an electric like the Model 3. The 6 year cost with that many miles for a Macan S is going to be more than $110,000 with Oil changes, spark plugs, PDK fluid change, brake fluid, brakes, gas tires etc. A model 3 would be half that. Take the difference and invest it in a ROTH.

That is one of the reasons I want to get a cheap used car for most of my daily driving. Still will use the Porsche for some of the daily driving but will try to keep it around 10k miles per year and do the rest with the cheaper car. I am too excited about the Macan to cancel my order :-)

Its just a car...a nice one...but really, just use it. Dings and scratches can be fixed.

I had a '21 GTS that was my daily driver and I drive a lot of miles for work. It got totaled earlier this year but I'm awaiting a new one and it, too, will be my daily driver.

It's a nice SUV, but it's no 918 supercar or something. Just drive it and enjoy. I'll be using my GTS and bike as dailies.

I put about 22-25Kmiles a year commuting to and from work. After 20+ years, I spent about 2+yrs of my of my working hours on driving without being paid and realized that it's definitely worth driving a car the make the time worth while if you can afford it. There're better places to save.

I drive a Macan base as a daily driver since it's a fun sporty SUV to drive. Have put around 10k miles on the car in the past 6 months from commutes to school/short trips down the shore. The most I'll do is do 2-3 hour driving with the Macan or else I'll drive a cheaper used car for longer distance driving. I don't worry about putting miles on the Macan since I have the 4 year factory warranty + 2 year/unlimited miles CPO warranty on the car making it 6 years/unlimited miles.

I must admit that I don’t like racking up huge mileage on my Porsches. It bums me out that they are getting “old” and depreciating even faster. Maybe that’s not entirely logical as others have explained.

My wife and I recently moved to a new house out on the country but for many reasons my wife still goes back to the old neighborhood for activities.

So now my Macan GTS is gaining mileage at quadruple the old rate. What I do HATE is that it’s now getting damage at an alarming rate due to a bad traffic filled highway. No alternative route. Chips (some even through the clear film), dings on the trim and a peppered windshield.

So for this reason I also am considering a “BEATER” for those slogs down the highway to the city. I’ll save the Macan for the beautiful, curvy country drives.

It's just a car, life can change in a minute, drive it like ya stole it! Don't save vehicles for the next owner...lol..especially 50+ year olds on here..

Really, it's just a Macan. The mileage is not an issue. Enjoy the ride, just be prepared for associated maintenance costs and replace it in 5 years.
