Default GTS Oil consumption

Sorry if this has been discussed before (please point me to a link), but I am wondering what folks are getting for oil consumption with that 0W30 oil? My 991.2 Carrera S consumed almost 0 measurable oil (5W30) in about 2000 mi. I never let oil change intervals go beyond about 2K in the 911 so I do not know the 10K consumption levels for that car. Just curios what Macan users are getting for consumption over the 10K mi oil change interval? I know it depends on engine RPM history and driving style. The Porsche cited max oil consumption of 0.84 qts/620 mi is outrageously high, and I hope my motor never sees consumption at that level. But that 0W30 oil makes me nervous.

Have had my 2022 GTS for ~14 months. Did the annual service at ~6k miles. As far as I can tell, no unusual oil consumption.

I've had my 2020 Macan GTS since new, first oil change with M1 (0W30) at 5,000 miles and didn't notice any consumption at all (I did put the car under load during break-in though). Next oil change I switched to Ravenol VMP (5W30) and have been using it ever since. Per the owners manual the 2020 GTS can use 0W30 or 5W30 as long as it has the Porsche C30 approval specificiation which the Ravenol has. The Ravenol VMP 5W30 is a PAO based oil with very robust specs and extremely low volatility (Noack). I wish Ravenol made a Porsche C40 spec 0W40 oil for my 992!

Thanks for posting. I would be perfectly happy with no oil consumption in 5000 mi, even with 0W30 oil. The owners manual for the 2022 show Porsche C30 spec for the GTS, 0W30 listed only (not 5W30). Because my GTS is new and under factory warranty I will probably stay with the factory recommendation just in case there are motor issues in the future. I will not use M1 however.

When you say "no unusual oil consumption" do you mean no measurable oil consumption?

For my 2018 Turbo with 67k on the odometer i loose very little oil. Translation: 1/2 cup every 5k. I change my oil/filter every 5k.

The oil level was at the very top of the gauge when I picked up the car new. One year later at its first service (6,161 miles) the gauge was down one notch. Well within "normal" usage. No concerns here.

That is excellent. What oil and wt are you using (5W30 or 0W30)?

That's very good. Thank you.

2019 S with 75K miles. Change it every 10K. I have had to add 0.5 qt twice in-between 10K changes.

Are you using 0W30 or 5W30?

0W20 - The Base and the 3.0 single turbo S use 0W-20
The GTS 2.9 twin turbo uses 5W30/0W-30.

At least that is how I read the owners manual.

I'm putting a lot of miles on my GTS. mixed northeast driving, probably 17 miles of highway cruising, then 8 miles of highway congestion. I am currently at 23k miles on a '22 GTS.

Oil consumption has been about 1 quart every 8k. Enough to carry a quart in the trunk. I would say it's about the same in my Cayenne. 992 has not required any but only drive it about 4-5k/year.

I will assume you purchased it new. Growing up in Philly and since 87 in Houston, I understand traffic. But I don’t know your driving habits. One quart every 8k might be acceptable. But I don’t believe you need to keep a quart of oil in your GTS just in case.

For my 2022 GTS, owner's manual only says 0W30. May go to 5W30 (as in my 2017 911) if I see any consumption but based on folks here using about 1 qt/10K mi I don't think I will have to.
