Rear hatch beeping

Yes. Some have reported the dealership refusing to do it b/c of "safety". I believe it actually says it can be disabled by the dealership in the Macan owners manual. I have not asked my dealer about it but plan to. It is a bit obnoxious.

Follow this to remove the rear hatch trim panel.
The speaker is a round thingey, on the drivers side, just to the left of the hatch control module, with a small 2 wire plug. Just unplug it.

Old owner's manual references dealer adjustment but language missing from recent manuals. Usual dealer excuse for not doing it is "safety".

The several seconds of beeping doesn't bother me. After I had the car for a couple of months I never really noticed it anymore. So much for the "safety" aspect. Too many nanny warnings and we tend to ignore them.

Do I need to remove the fuse before I pull that panel? Will the rear hatch try to close if I pull down on it while removing the panel if the fuse is left in?
Are those rear beepers used for any other warnings (like lane change assist, collision warning while parking, etc)? I do not want to disable those.

That brings up a flashback for me. I was on my motorcycle and stopped behind a dump truck. For no reason he started backing up without looking, and I was able to back pedal barely enough to get out of the way. That was before reverse warning beepers. So, as long as my car isn't trying to run me over I will tolerate those things.
