It would be smoother if the car remained in 2nd to a full stop. Then shift down to 1st as you take off again. At least that is how I would do it with a manual trans...

Huge difference in my PP between the three. Normal mode is literally for cruising in the HOV lane.

18’gts ..sport +.. I never use it puttering around the city .. pretty annoying when it blips on a downshift. Sport mode majority of time. Upshifts way quicker in auto mode. Never use paddles ie haven’t done a track day yet.. someday.

Tried manual shift mode, and this eliminates the downshifts if you don't manually shift. So, if you are accelerating and shift up to let's say 4rth, then brake as you approach an intersection without shifting, car will not downshift/rev match as you stop, but selects 1st or 2nd on resuming. This is perfect for me. Only issue I have with manual paddle shifting is shifting coming out of a turn. Difficult depending on steering wheel position (particularly sharp slow corners).
In manual mode, I cannot tell any real difference in Sport or Sport+ . Shifts seem to be about the same speed. Maybe there is a difference in throttle sensitivity, but if there is its subtle.

There's a pretty significant different in throttle response between Sport and Sport+, but you have to be in the upper 50% of throttle to take full advantage of it. If you have Sport Chrono, you can get a sense of the difference by driving in Sport mode, then hitting the center button on the Sport Chrono selector to access the 20 seconds of full Sport+.

If you're not braking like you're at a track day, the downshifting can be pretty aggressive. Don't wait for a track day to use the paddles!

My 2020 gts is running an aggressive Cobb tune with supporting intake and exhaust mods. I use sports plus all the time. Find it suitable when using paddles.

Not sure I understand. I use paddle shifting in manual mode all the time, especially in stop and go traffic. Having control over shift points and downshifts is smoother than letting the computer do it (esp in Sport and Sport+ modes).

Beginning to like the manual mode. Can aggresively shift if I want, but can also short shift up to 7th while going down hills or if I want to save a little fuel. With either auto modes Sport or Sport + the car never does this unless you are going very fast (you never see 7th).
