Will Porsche have a new, higher performing version of the gasoline Macan?

What about the drivetrain out of an RS Avant?

To be honest, I dont really get that much chance to stretch my S. We have some great roads around here, but being in wine country, there are more than the fair share of drunk drivers to look out for. Do I need something that has more than the GTS in terms of power? Nope. Do I want it though? Of course. Why the hell not!

I've always hoped Porsche would slot the Audi RS Q3 5 cylinder 400hp engine into the base Macan as a farewell to the ICE base version. That is a great engine..

I like the idea of a GT but at the same time super happy with our 2018 GTS. For me, I'm looking at complimenting the utilitarian DD, COSTCO runner, Macan with a 911 GTS cab. That could be a perfect combination.

I say you can never have enough HP/torque!Bring it! Everything is about the profit and with the Macan being Porsche’s entry level vehicle, I don’t think it’ll happen. If I ever want more power from my GTS, I’d probably get new turbos, intercoolers, exhaust, and a custom tune. For now, I’m pretty happy with my ‘22 GTS. My wife drives it most of the time anyways and my other cars keep me entertained.

Better gas mileage is performance too. They are thirsty beasts. The X3 M40i is quicker and far better at the pump. I still picked the Macan, but a few extra MPG would be great.

Mercedes is able to offer 416 hp from a 2.0 liter turbo 4-banger with a more intelligent turbo. https://www.motor1.com/news/712887/m...-coupe-reveal/ (the M139 engine has been around since 2022 offering 381 ponies in the SL, but it's getting a bump in power for 2025).
Surely Porsche could crack 480 or 500 reliable horses from a newly tuned ~3 liter V6 if they wanted to do so. Maybe VWAG will grace us with happy news soon. The forthcoming Audi S5/RS5 ought to be new and improved, and the ICE Macan ought to be able to share those engines. My guess is that after all the time Audi has taken to develop the new platform, those drivetrains must be a significant improvement over what's on the road today.
I feel that handling and braking are every bit as important as peak power. I don't desperately need more than the GTS offers today. However, I have never enjoyed the fat understeering nose-heavy SUV-isms baked into the Macan. I appreciate that Porsche did a lot to improve the platform they had to work with, but it still feels like a ute to me. I don't think the addition of power would ever make a Macan worthy of a GT badge.
I'd rather see an improved "T" with 315 horses from the 2.0T (same as the VW Golf R) or a new Macan Club Sport based on the GTS but with a 500 pound mass reduction, a minimum ~20 mpg mixed real world fuel economy, and a serious cleanup of the plastic tack-ons & aero drag improvements. I'll get in line to have a serious look.
Add a 6 speed manual transmission to a Macan CS without breaking the $100k barrier, and I will open my checkbook right now.
Unfortunately I have the sneaky suspicion that Porsche isn't interested in maintaining any cheap customers in the sub-$100k range, so an Audi RS5 Avant will be the likely best choice available for drivers who want the best one-arrow quiver for all seasons.
