I was just perusing and noticed your comments on the 993 replacement into your 964. I'm in the same boat. I have a 1990 C4 in need of some serious engine work. Long story. I decided to swap out the engine with a low mileage one from a salvaged '94 993. Car had been stolen and body damaged, but engine has checked out o.k. on compression/leak checks. It only has 12k miles on it and a 120 day warranty. If it goes south I can have it shipped back and start over.

It sounds like you had something go wrong with this approach. If you don't mind my asking, what happened? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Dave! Thanks for the link. I've actually checked out your ad and have thought about it. It's definitely a beautiful car! Julie and I have just done something that should make my choice easier...we bought a new Subaru. Ok, maybe not "easier", but it eliminated many (more expensive) options.

So still not sure what we're going to do. The latest thought is trying to build some kind of 924 Carrera GT look-a-like out of a 924S or an early 944. But I'd have to keep costs down. I really don't have a handle on what budget we're looking at now. Anywho...

its mine. Its not perfect, but it is pretty darn nice. Despite being "for sale" I haven't really been overly active in promoting its sale.
