Hi Doug, I have been reading many of your comments on oil. I have a 1996 911 Targa C2. I am currently using 5W40 AMSOIL. I live in a hot climate area of Alabama and drive the car less than 2,000 miles a year. Can I or should I stay with this viscosity or go to 20W50 or 15W50 which is what the owners manual calls for?I only have 300 miles on the 5w40 oil but I notice a short puff of smoke on start up that I did not get with 15W50. Is the 5w40 too light? I would certainly appreciate your answer on this one. The car has 35,000 milesI dont drive it hard but I dont baby it either. For short times I take it up near redline in3rd /4th gears. Thanks, MACK
