Ordered without. Have not missed it. For one thing the NAV database for SA is lacking (you are much better off with a R900 TomTom). If you want to use the iPOD and control it via the screen then you need the PCM - no option there.
I simply did a couple of MP3 CDs with the music I like and that works perfectly with the CDS system with easy selection using the touch screen.
However, after having driven the car for some 5000K now, I have to say that it does not make for a good music listening platform even in limo mode with the exhaust muted. Thus any money spent on this is a bit wasted in my opinion. My Mercs sound quality (from an accoustic point of view) is MUCH better.
The 911 is for driving. I don't even like listening to music while I drive the thing. I rather listen to the engine.
Rather spend the money on a nice leather interior or something that suits the 911. My 2 cents...

I saw in a thread you were ordering a 991 withou nav, but you seem to know alot about the PCM functionality etc.

I've just ordered mine and I'm undecided about taking the very expensive R44k nav/pcm component.

I don't care so much about the nav (although I'd take it if it was cheaper), I'm more interested in the iPod/USB connector and the functionality it adds to the audio system - built-in HDD for MP3 playback etc.

Do you know more about it that you might be willing to share?

Did you take delivery of your car already? Did you take or leave out the Nav? Are you happy with your decision?
