    Given what you describe, it sounds like one of the switches that the alarm monitors.

    The best way I can suggest trakcing this down is the find a shop with a PST2 tested or the full Durametric software. Scott might be current as to which shops have either tool.

    Using the on board diagnostics, the alarm stores fault codes from when it has been activitated. The code(s) will tell you what opening faulted and tripped the alarm.

    From what I recall, the switch for the front hood is easily disturbed from its normal position or broken. You might remove the front trunk carpet and check it.
