Hi, I recently purchased my first 1979 Porsche 911sc. I came to the same conclusion in regards to filling out the fender wells properly. I am running Fuchs 6 and 7 x 16 in. wheels. Tires sizes are front 205 x 55R-16 and rear 225 x 50R-16 standard flares. I held a level against the outsde of the fender and measured from the tire side wall to the edge of the fender and determined that I need a space 0f 1 inch rear and 3/4inch front to fill the gap. I would like to use hub centric adapters to fill in the space. I am wondering how you accomplished this. Are there any issues to be concerned with ie.tire rub, axle strength etc.
